Hamdeok black pork restaurant terrace and bone ribeye: Jeju Samchun
In short
Jeju Samchun is a black pork BBQ restaurant in Jocheon-eup, Jeju, a 3-minute walk from Hamdeok Beach. Four adults and a baby, grandparents included, came on a weekday evening and ordered the Samchun Set 800g for 96,000 won, Samchun kimchi jjigae for 8,000 won and two bowls of rice, with staff cutting and grilling all the pork neck, pork belly and bone ribeye at the table. With plenty of baby chairs and a terrace-like seating area, Jeju Samchun made an easy dinner out for three generations.

When you think Jeju, you can't resist black pork. We were staying at the Sonobel near Hamdeok Beach, so we went looking for a good black pork spot nearby. Since we were visiting with a baby, we needed a place with a baby chair, spacious seating, and ideally staff who'd grill the meat for us... and wouldn't you know it, there was a restaurant that fit every single condition? Here's my review of Jeju Samchun Hamdeok Beach Black Pork, a black pork restaurant in Hamdeok, Jeju!
Where is Jeju Samchun, and what are its hours?
Located at 537-1 Sinbuk-ro, Jocheon-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju, South Korea, 1st floor, open daily from 12:00 to 23:00, with parking available. Jeju Samchun Hamdeok Beach Black Pork, a Hamdeok black pork favorite, is just a 3-minute walk from Hamdeok Beach — we walked there, but I heard parking is available too.

The terrace-like seating area for families with kids
Jeju Samchun Hamdeok Beach Black Pork was packed even on a weekday evening, so fair warning — no interior photos here. But there was a terrace-like space, which was great for walking around with a restless kid!!
What four adults ordered at Jeju Samchun, and the total
At Jeju Samchun Hamdeok Beach Black Pork, a Hamdeok black pork favorite, you order through the kiosk at each table. Since it was four adults, we ordered the Samchun Set 800g for ₩96,000, Samchun kimchi jjigae for ₩8,000, and rice at ₩1,000 x 2 bowls^^

The side dishes came out like this, clean and all delicious. There's no self-serve bar, so if you run low, you just call a staff member for a refill.

Sauce came out in individual plates for each of us, and since we came with a baby, they even gave us kids' tableware haha, so cute haha. Plenty of baby chairs were ready too.
Inside the Samchun Set 800g: pork neck, pork belly, bone ribeye
Here comes the Samchun Set~ It's a menu made up of pork neck, pork belly, and bone ribeye, and true to the Jeju vibe, a dol hareubang (stone grandfather statue) figurine came along with it lolllllll.
Apparently it's cooked using a method of 300-hour cold aging followed by grapevine smoking, giving soft, deeply flavorful black pork — and just looking at it, the bright red meat looked seriously high quality~~

Samchun kimchi jjigae: is one pot enough for four?
Since we're a rice-loving family, we ordered the kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) too~ It wasn't a small pot — one was plenty for four people! There was quite a lot of meat in it too, and being made with aged kimchi, it was seriously delicious.

Staff grill the black pork for you at the table
At Jeju Samchun Hamdeok Beach Black Pork, a Hamdeok black pork favorite, skilled staff members grill the meat for you. Trying to grill meat yourself while managing a baby would be chaos, so having a restaurant that grills for you is just so nice... haha...

Get delicious~~ Jeju black pork tends to come in thick-cut, muscle-heavy pieces, so it's honestly a bit tricky to grill yourself, but with staff cutting it into easy bite sizes and grilling it for us, it was genuinely so convenient and nice.

The black pork slowly turning golden brown and delicious.

We were stuffed from lunch already, so I thought, ah, will there even be room for dinner... but the smell of meat grilling got the saliva flowing again lolllllll.
Pork neck vs pork belly vs bone ribeye: how each tasted
Once cooked, the meat gets moved to the side so you can enjoy it warm without it cooling down. As expected of Jeju black pork, the pork neck was clean and delicious, and the pork belly's fat was well balanced. And you all know that if you clear your palate with a shishito pepper or aged kimchi every so often, you can keep eating endlessly, right?

Once they finish grilling the bone ribeye too, it's done. It had a slight pink tint, so my mom worried it wasn't cooked through, but they told us that with good quality pork, it's fine to leave it a bit underdone — it actually ends up softer and better. There was only one bone piece, so we gave it to my dad, the head of our household^^~~

Is Jeju Samchun good for a three-generation family dinner?
One good thing about traveling with grandma and grandpa — they take care of the baby completely lolllllllllll. With a baby chair and chairs for grandma and grandpa too, we got to properly enjoy Jeju black pork, and it was just so great haha. I'll recommend Jeju Samchun Hamdeok Beach Black Pork, a Hamdeok black pork favorite in Jeju!!
