Jeju Dongmun Market rice snack shop: ₩25,000 in wrapped oranda
In short
Cheongchuni Oranda Dongmun Market Main Branch Tapdong is a handmade oranda and gwajul (Korean puffed rice sweets) shop just inside Gates 2 and 9 of Dongmun Market in Jeju. After tasting the yuzu, nut, garlic, gamtae seaweed and Udo peanut flavors, we filled a bag with ₩25,000 worth of individually wrapped pieces, and the gentle garlic aroma of the garlic oranda was the clear favorite. It is not hard at all but crumbles in the mouth, making it a Jeju souvenir that kids and adults can share.

After a trip to Jeju, you always wonder what souvenir to bring back for family or friends ~ skip the usual chocolate or cookies and look for something with a bit more care and flavor — that's how I found "Cheongchuni Oranda" at Dongmun Market! It was so much better than expected that I really want to introduce Cheongchuni Oranda as a Jeju travel gift.

Where is Cheongchuni Oranda in Dongmun Market, and what are the hours?

Cheongchuni Oranda really does sell a huge range of oranda!! I had no idea there'd be so many kinds, and just browsing was fun haha. Perfect for a Jeju souvenir ~~ ♥

Gwajul and single-piece oranda: an easy snack to eat in the market
Cheongchuni Oranda also sells gwajul (traditional Jeju fried rice snack), a classic Jeju treat. They come in white rice, brown rice, buckwheat, and steamed rice flavors, and overall they're crispy and light — a great fit for adults who prefer a clean flavor over something too sweet!!

There's also ready-to-eat oranda packaged by flavor, so you can just pick the one you want and eat it right away!! The packaging is neat too, so nothing sticks to your hands — great as a snack when you get hungry while browsing Dongmun Market 😊 Walking around the market checking things out, you get hungry faster than you'd think, so having one of these on hand is perfect for a quick sugar boost ♥

Oranda flavors and prices at Cheongchuni: 3 pieces for ₩10,000
The five oranda flavors most often bought as gifts at Cheongchuni Oranda are yuzu, gamtae (seaweed), nuts, garlic, and Udo peanut 🍊 Yuzu, nut, and garlic are ₩3,500 each, gamtae and Udo peanut are ₩4,000 each, and buying 3 comes to ₩10,000!!
- Yuzu oranda: ₩3,500
- Nut oranda: ₩3,500
- Garlic oranda: ₩3,500
- Gamtae oranda: ₩4,000
- Udo peanut oranda: ₩4,000
- 3 for ₩10,000

And it was so great that you can taste-test before buying?!!! At first I was just browsing and wondering which flavor to get, but after trying one I got curious about the others too lol, and once I tried one, there was no way I wasn't buying it 🤭 It was so good that I almost wished I hadn't tried the sample at all ㅠㅠ haha.

Why we skipped the gift set for ₩25,000 of individually wrapped oranda
So many people go to Dongmun Market to buy souvenirs! Cheongchuni Oranda also has a variety of gift sets ready ^^ They pack several flavors into a pretty gift box, which would make a great ready-to-give present haha. The person receiving it would probably feel happy the moment they open it, right? ><

Since I planned to share mine with family, I skipped the gift box and bought individually wrapped oranda instead!! Each piece is neatly packaged on its own, so it's easy to hand out to family or friends ^^

Garlic oranda was the favorite: aroma and crumbly texture
The total came to ₩25,000!!! Oranda is a unique treat you can only find in Jeju ♥ I bought several flavors, and garlic oranda was my favorite!! There's a subtle garlic aroma, and it pairs surprisingly well with oranda? It's not just sweet — the distinctive garlic flavor adds something that kept me reaching for more!!!

What surprised me most was the texture — this isn't the hard, tooth-sticking oranda we usually think of! It crumbles softly in your mouth, which makes it a flavor that both kids and adults can enjoy without any hesitation ♥ If you're heading to Jeju, be sure to grab a box of delicious oranda from 'Cheongchuni Oranda' as a gift 🎁
