I went out for a weekday dinner to Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant, which I'd heard is a real meat lover's spot 🫶 You can enjoy both beef and pork here, and the price for what you get is so reasonable that it's perfect for a family dinner out.

Hanmaeum Butcher Restaurant Gosan District Branch has a really spacious layout, so it looks great for company dinners, family meals, all kinds of gatherings.
There are also three rooms, which look like a cozy setup for a work dinner! And for family events too!
There's a kids' zone in particular with gachapon capsule machines, games, and a play area inside the restaurant, and the kids seemed to absolutely love it. It looks like a great setup for families — kids can play while the parents eat.
In the hallway there are plastic covers for bags and coats, plus aprons. It's really convenient for keeping your clothes from picking up the grill smell.

Twelve side dishes and refillable doenjang jjigae
Geotjeori (fresh kimchi salad), fish cake side dish, baek kimchi (white kimchi), ssamjang (dipping sauce), garlic, salt, pickled onion, mukbap (mung bean jelly soup), green onion salad, cucumber salad, pickled radish for wraps, and pickled peppers were all served as basic side dishes. I've never seen this much included before, I was honestly stunned.
Doenjang jjigae also comes as standard, and it's unlimited refills — no extra charge...! It has zucchini, onion, and tofu in it.
At the self-serve bar you can help yourself to lettuce, perilla leaves, cheongyang chili peppers, pickled radish, ssamjang, garlic, pickled peppers, and baek kimchi. Just ask again and they'll refill the green onion salad and geotjeori for free when you order.
The half beef set also came out generously portioned, completing a full spread!
How does the 39,900-won half-beef set taste?
It cooked quickly, so we grilled it in small batches.
Eating it with salt, green onion salad, and pickled peppers, I got to enjoy it in a bunch of different ways and it was delicious. I'd really recommend the beef — it's genuinely so tender that it's easy to grill and goes down smoothly.
The bone-in short ribs were also incredibly tender and tasty. They also give you mushrooms, onion, rice cake, and cheese rice cake as standard. The cheese rice cake was so chewy and delicious.
The mukbap portion was so huge I thought, wait, this is included for free? And the flavor was seriously incredible too. I ordered a bowl of rice and ate it with the unlimited doenjang jjigae, and it made for a really filling meal.
Being able to keep it simmering hot the whole time is also such an appealing touch.
Once the meat was fully cooked, they moved it onto the stone plate so it stayed warm without overcooking — really nice for eating at your own pace.
