A beef tripe and intestine date meal near Isu Station
There seem to be so many great places to eat around Isu Station and Sadang Station. After carefully planning our weekend date itinerary for a few days, my girlfriend and I came to Baekho Yangdaechang because we wanted gopchang (beef intestines) and fried rice. It was nice that we could walk straight here from Isu Station without much of a trek.
The exterior and an easy-to-find location

Starting with the exterior, the clean, trendy sign and polished façade really caught my eye even from a distance. It is not tucked away deep in an alley, and its accessible location meant we found it right away without getting lost. That alone earned it points from me.

Soft lighting inside and a tablet menu

When we opened the door and stepped in, the cozy yet stylish interior welcomed us. The lighting was softly set—not too bright or too dark—creating the perfect mood to face each other and chat. The tables were nicely spaced out, and the ventilation seemed excellent, as there was barely any of that stifling smoke or smell typical of a barbecue restaurant. It was truly ideal for a date.

Settling comfortably into our seats, we carefully browsed the tablet menu. Everything from grilled items to premium tripe, daechang (beef large intestine), and a range of meal options was organized clearly at a glance, making it much easier to choose. After sweetly discussing what to have, we picked the fail-safe best combination: assorted grill followed by fried rice to finish.
From side dishes to the assorted grill

As soon as we finished ordering, neatly arranged banchan (Korean side dishes) were quickly set on the table. There were refreshing pickles and seasoned shredded scallions to cut through the richness of the meat, kimchi, and a house sauce that was great alongside it all. Every single one tasted clean and thoughtfully prepared. The mild, not-overpowering side dishes were especially tempting enough to keep our chopsticks moving before the main course even arrived.

They were also running a review event: write one review and you get soju; write two and you get soft tofu stew or a crab-and-cheese rolled omelet.

A little later, high-heat charcoal was brought to our table, and a delicious aroma began to spread along with its gentle warmth. The fire was so good that I had a feeling the meat would cook perfectly—crisp outside and juicy within. You could tell at once that this was a place using good charcoal, and my anticipation for the main course went way up.

Our two portions of assorted grill arrived.

The moment the beautifully trimmed assorted cuts went onto the grill, they made that wonderful sizzle and an aroma that had us salivating brushed past my nose. The staff kindly handled the grilling for us, so my girlfriend and I could chat comfortably while watching the meat cook.

The chewy texture and rich, nutty flavor that burst out more with every bite filled my mouth—it was the kind of taste that naturally makes you exclaim.

First of all, having it grilled for us was so convenient.

It was delicious with the shredded scallions, too.
Yang fried rice to finish

After filling up nicely on the grill, we added fried rice with yang (beef tripe) for two for the perfect finish. The generous serving that covered the grill was wonderfully spicy, with a satisfyingly firm, chewy texture.

It was loaded with ingredients that had a great bite, and I was so pleased that I scraped up every last spoonful. From the atmosphere to the food, it was a perfectly successful date, and I definitely want to come back next time.
