In short
Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch is a Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the building right behind Exit 2 of Omokgyo Station (Line 5) in Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. The seafood tray jjajang (stir-fried black bean noodles) arrived loaded with squid and shrimp in a smoky sauce alongside mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), while the partition-divided hall, tablet ordering and self-serve bar kept the meal easy. Today I want to introduce a hotspot that'll catch the eye and appetite of any Chinese food lover. I visited Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch, a Mokdong restaurant perfect for when you're craving a deeply wok-fried jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and crispy, chewy tangsuyuk.
How to get to Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch, and where to park
Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo is really easy to get to by public transit. Come out of Exit 2 of Omokgyo Station on Line 5, look behind you, and there's the building — second floor — so you won't get lost even on your first visit. It's only 67m away, less than a minute's walk from the station, which makes it a great meeting spot too.
If you're driving, just search for Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch in your navigation — free parking is available in the building. If the building lot is full, there's a paid public parking lot nearby, Mokdong Public Parking Lot, worth knowing before you go.

Inside Yugwanjang Banjeom: partition-divided booths and the 14-person room
Walking into the second-floor restaurant, I was greeted by a clean, cozy atmosphere. Soft lighting paired with a modern wood-toned interior gave off a much more polished, refined feel than a typical Chinese restaurant.

The hall seating is well divided with partitions, so you can eat comfortably without worrying about other tables. From cozy couple seats to a room that fits up to 14 people, it looked like a solid choice for dates, family gatherings, or work dinners.

Tablet ordering and the self-serve bar at Yugwanjang Banjeom
Ordering through the tablet at each table with menu photos was really convenient. Off to one side there's a neatly arranged self-serve bar, so I could grab pickled radish, onion, black bean paste, scissors, tongs, small plates, and more without any hesitation. They even thoughtfully provided disposable aprons, handy to grab before eating.

What we ordered: seafood tray jjajang and mini tangsuyuk
After some deliberation over the tablet menu, I ordered the seafood tray jjajang, the restaurant's popular dish, along with mini tangsuyuk to go with it. Before long, the table was full of a generous spread.

Is the seafood tray jjajang worth it? Squid, shrimp and smoky wok flavor
The seafood tray jjajang arrived nearly overflowing on a large metal tray, and the deep smoky aroma that hit my nose the moment it landed was already art. The glossy black bean sauce was generously packed with fresh squid, shrimp, meat, and vegetables.

Lifting a big bite with the tongs pulled up plump squid with pretty crosshatch cuts. The rich black bean sauce had soaked thoroughly into the noodles, so every bite brought a harmonious mix of chewy noodles and springy seafood texture.

The savory flavor filled my mouth without any greasiness, and I couldn't stop reaching for more. I could instantly understand why this dish is what draws so many people to call this a top Mokdong Chinese restaurant.
Mini tangsuyuk: pale crisp batter and thick, juicy pork
The tangsuyuk that came with the noodles caught the eye with its clean, pale white color, as if fried in clear, fresh oil. Even at mini size, it was a generous portion, plenty for two to enjoy alongside the noodle dish.

Dipped into the tangy-sweet, deeply flavorful house sauce, the crispy coating and sweet sauce hit a fantastic balance. Dipped lightly in soy sauce for a sweet-and-salty twist, it was excellent too.
Final verdict on Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch
Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch stood out not just for its great subway access, but for its comfortable, private dining environment and, above all, well-made dishes that didn't skimp on ingredients. Being open 24 hours (except Monday night and Tuesday morning — check with the store for details) is another big plus, letting you enjoy high-quality Chinese food without worry late at night or early in the morning when a late-night craving hits.
