Songdo salt bread café with parents, autumn terrace: Cozy Bear
In short
Cozy Bear (코지베어) is a café in the Songdo academy district of Yeonsu, Incheon, and salt bread is the only baked good it sells. On the autumn terrace with my mom and dad, we had plain salt bread (3,500 won) and iced, hot and decaf Americanos (3,800 won, decaf +500 won); the bread was soft but the butter on top was slightly greasy, and the coffee was mellow with no sourness. Cozy Bear is an easygoing Songdo café for one salt bread and a cup of coffee.

My mom loves salt bread, so the two of us stopped by Cozy Bear in Songdo, Incheon, for salt bread and a coffee. It's a well-known Songdo salt bread spot where the bread comes out just twice a day, and the café closes early once it sells out.
What are the exterior and parking like at Cozy Bear in Songdo?

Cozy Bear is on the ground floor of a shopping building in the Songdo academy district. It looked like a brand-new café, and the exterior already felt clean.

For parking, use the building's underground lot, the Cali Plaza (카리스프라자) parking lot. Cozy Bear even handled the parking validation, so we could leave for free.
Is the inside of Cozy Bear spacious?

The inside is a small café hall, cozy and modest. But a place like this is surprisingly nice for a quiet little chat. It looks tight, yet once you sit down it somehow feels like your own space.

Cozy Bear coffee prices and signature drinks
The Americano is ₩3,800, so this Songdo bakery café is cheap for coffee and easy on the wallet. Signature drinks include the vanilla bean cream latte, Valrhona chocolate milk and the Cozy Latte.

When does the salt bread come out at Cozy Bear?
The salt bread comes out at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. That's only twice, and when it's all sold, the café closes early.

How many kinds of salt bread does Cozy Bear have?
Cozy Bear, a Songdo salt bread favorite, sells only salt bread as its bakery item. Being a salt-bread-only place, you can feel their pride in it. There was plain salt bread and ang-butter (red bean paste and butter) salt bread made with homemade red bean.

There were also potato salt bread, castella (sponge cake) salt bread and the best seller, garlic salt bread. They boil the red beans for the ang-butter themselves, and the potatoes for the potato salt bread too, making the fillings in-house. It's a Songdo café that makes its own ingredients to bring out the true flavor of each.

The salt bread can also be packaged as a gift.

When I visited, Cozy Bear was also running an event: write a review and get one free salt bread.

Sitting on the Cozy Bear terrace in autumn
The indoor seats were almost full, so we used the outdoor terrace. With the cool autumn weather, it was actually better. A coffee in the fresh breeze, such a relaxing moment... you have to enjoy it to the fullest before winter comes.

How does the plain salt bread (₩3,500) taste?
The salt bread at Cozy Bear is ₩3,500. It's made with French fermented butter and Guérande sea salt, and the dough uses French flour, they say.

The bread was really soft, not chewy at all. I could taste the butter flavor, but the butter on the outside of the bun lingered a bit on the roof of my mouth. It felt slightly greasy, so I thought it would taste even better crisped up in an air fryer, where the melted butter turns crispy and firm.

Americano and decaf: a review from the three of us
The Americano is ₩3,800, and decaf costs ₩500 more. All three of us ordered an Americano, but each a different kind: I had an iced Americano, Dad a hot Americano, and Mom a hot decaf Americano.

Cozy Bear puts a heart on the decaf coffee, so it was easy to tell apart. The hot Americano wasn't bitter and tasted good, they said. It tasted even better in the autumn breeze, they added! Decaf can easily end up tasting like nothing in particular, but with the salt bread Mom said it was just right.

The iced Americano went down smoothly too. It wasn't coffee that was simply bitter. It seemed brewed from nicely roasted beans. It tasted fresh and had no sourness, a comfortable coffee.
How big is the salt bread at Cozy Bear?
The salt bread is on the large side, so one is a fine portion by itself. Cozy Bear is a Songdo bakery café where you can easily enjoy a salt bread and a coffee.
