Jungangno Station pasta place: mackerel steak pasta for two, Resting07

Resting07 (레스팅07) is a Daegu spot that just about everyone has visited at least once for a blind date or a date! The private rooms make it great for a cozy mood, but the food itself is so good that people also come alone or with friends. It's a Western-style restaurant.

Before you go to Resting07: location and wait times

Resting07 is on the second floor of a building on Dongseong-ro 3-gil, not far from Jungangno Station, so it's easy to reach. Signs for the businesses are plastered everywhere, so finding it is a one-star difficulty.

We went at 6pm on a Friday, which is early, and there was still a wait. Luckily we were the first party in line, so we only waited about 10 minutes, but room seats are especially popular, so if it's an important occasion like a blind date or an anniversary, I'd recommend booking ahead. Especially on weekends, and even more so for the rooms!

Resting07 atmosphere and room seats

Resting07 is split into open seating and room seating. The rooms are formed by arched partition walls, so they still feel a little open. With a white and wood tone and plants dotted around, the mood is just right: clean and cozy!

Inside the room there was a small tablet, which made it easy to call staff or check notices. The staff, neatly dressed in suits, guided us kindly. It was a busy time, so food took about 10–20 minutes to come out!

There were lots of little touches that looked plain but had personality. It's casual dining but with a mood that's not over the top, so I think it suits anyone who wants to drop by casually, haha.

How to order at Resting07 and what two people paid

Ordering at Resting07 is self-order on a tablet. There's no separate menu, so you can check the menu in the video!

They were also running an event: write a Naver receipt review and get one of a mini salad, corn cheese or a soft drink as a free extra.

We ordered the mackerel steak oil pasta, the cube pork steak and a Coke Zero (355ml), and the total came to ₩38,400. I was worried the amount might be borderline, but eating all that, we were stuffed, haha...

Mackerel steak oil pasta: any bones or fishy taste?

The mackerel steak oil pasta at Resting07 was easy to debone with a fork and tongs, with no small bones catching. I'd eaten it before and loved it, so it was a re-order!

The skin and flesh don't quite peel away on their own, but with a fork and tongs it comes off easily. I was worried about small bones, but unlike my worry, none got stuck.

Because there's fish in it, it feels a bit oilier than a typical oil pasta. So squeeze on a ton of lemon.. and whenever it gets too much, cleanse your palate with the tomato and onion, and you'll scrape the plate clean without end. Clean-plate club^^~!

Cube pork steak: taste and sides

The cube pork steak at Resting07 comes as thick cubes of pork neck, very slightly crisp outside and juicy inside, full of meaty flavor, and much better than I expected!

The corn cheese, grilled cherry tomatoes and mushrooms served alongside were seasoned enough that you don't even need to dip them in sauce.

The side vegetables like sprouts, garlic and asparagus each have their own appealing aroma, so they were all tasty eaten on their own rather than with the meat. The portion was plenty for two to share.

Is Resting07 a good Western restaurant for a Dongseong-ro date?

On a weekday evening, even before people got off work, both the rooms and the hall at Resting07 were packed. And once again, it was delicious that day.

It's casual dining, so the prices are reasonable for this, and I think it's a good place when you want atmosphere, service and taste all together. If you're looking for a Western restaurant near Dongseong-ro for a blind date or a date, I recommend Resting07!
