Hi, this is Bong-hyeja-net Doeun. Feels like it's been a while since I went out to eat! This time it's a newly opened restaurant that's totally solo-dining friendly — Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch. I was so hyped I stopped by after the duty-free shop just to eat here. Let's take a look!
Where is Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch?
Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch is a Korean set-meal restaurant on the second basement floor of Jongno Tower, 51 Jongno, Jongno-gu, Seoul. It's close to Line 1 Jonggak Station Exit 3 or Exit 3-1, right in the Jongno area with Cheonggyecheon stream and Bosingak Bell nearby.

Both B1 and B2 of Jongno Tower are packed with restaurants, and this is one of the newest additions there!

If you park at Jongno Tower, you get 90 minutes of free parking, which makes it easy to just pop in for a meal!

It's located inside B2, and true to being a newly opened spot, the exterior looks really clean.

Seating for solo diners and groups of up to 8
Inside Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch, most tables are 2- or 4-seaters, and I did see people eating alone. There's also a separated space on one side where up to 8 people can have lunch together.
The interior is clean too, all set up with 2- and 4-person tables! I noticed several people dining solo there~

And on one side there's this separated space, which is great because up to 8 people can enjoy lunch together there~

What is on the menu at Bonghyejane Jubang?
The menu is set up like this — when you order a set (jeongsik), it comes with soup included, and you can also get meat dishes like pork cutlet or hamburg steak, or flame-grilled items like octopus stir-fry~

Ordering the signature set and sharing it among a group would make for a super filling meal!

Pork stir-fry set with rice, 15,000 won, ordered mild
The pork stir-fry set (rice included) is 15,000 won and comes with flame-grilled pork stir-fry and a small nourishing perilla soup. You can choose the spice level between mild and no-spice — I went with mild.
- Pork stir-fry set (rice included): "flame-grilled pork stir-fry and nourishing perilla soup"

You get to choose the spice level of the meat~ I picked mild over no-spice! The meat was tender with that smoky charcoal flavor — really appealing~

It even comes with a big mixing bowl of rice, so you mix everything together, wrap it in seaweed and eat — genuinely such a hearty bite.

The perilla soup is great to eat alongside for a filling meal, and its nutty flavor pairs really well with the red spicy sauce, I think? There's also a mushroom perilla soup set on the menu — sounds perfect to enjoy piping hot in winter.

Shredded zucchini pancake on the side, 10,000 won
The zucchini pancake is 10,000 won, a combination of thinly julienned zucchini and dried barley shrimp. It's a great side to order at Bonghyejane Jubang Jongno Tower branch when you come with a group.
- Zucchini pancake: "a fantastic combination of thinly julienned zucchini and dried barley shrimp"

The zucchini pancake smells amazing with that oil aroma, and the dried shrimp on top keeps it from being bland — crispy and soft at the same time, so it's great to order as a side to share with others! I'll admit, I left some rice just to eat more of this.

There are also small-portion sides like fish, chicken nanban, and pollack roe dumplings, so you can build a hearty meal beyond just meat or octopus dishes. And since the sets with perilla soup come with it included, you get to enjoy a warm meal too! There's even a space on the first floor of Jongno Tower styled like a little exhibit, so be sure to check it out too.
