Seoul Korean BBQ galbi set for two in a private room: Yukrab Jongno
In short
Yukrab Jongno is a Korean BBQ restaurant with private rooms on the 3rd floor of a building in Jongno, Seoul, a 2-minute walk from Jonggak Station Exit 4. Booking through Naver, the writer arrived at 7:30pm, took Room 6 and grilled the 2-person galbi (short rib) set for 64,000 won — jingalbisal (thick short rib meat), lamb ribs and marinated galbi — with two bowls of rice and beer added. Jingalbisal was the standout, the lamb ribs were best with curry powder, and even with the door closed the room never filled with smoke, making Yukrab Jongno a solid choice for a quiet dinner or a small gathering.

Hi everyone ᡣ (͒˶˙•●̫•˙˵)͒ I was looking for somewhere to eat near Jonggak Station and ended up at Yukrab Jongno. I'd just watched a performance at Cheonggye Plaza and was craving meat, haha, so I searched for a nearby Korean BBQ spot. I booked ahead through Naver and arrived around 7:30pm — no wait, straight into a room.

Inside Yukrab Jongno: atmosphere and seating
Yukrab Jongno's space is split into regular tables and private rooms.

The whole place is done in black tones, giving it a slightly calmer feel than a typical Korean BBQ spot. With separate rooms available, it also looks like a good option for meetings or work dinners!
The regular seating was split between window-side and inner tables, and felt a bit brighter than the rooms.

There was also a separate country-of-origin sign, so you could check where the meat came from.
Is Room 6 too big for two people?
We were shown to Room 6, tucked at the back of the hallway. It was sized for about 6 people, so it felt roomy for just the two of us. Since we'd booked ahead, the basic side dishes and utensils were already set up. Best of all, we could close the door and eat, so we could chat comfortably while grilling, haha.

Yukrab Jongno menu prices: sets and à la carte
The set menus were split into 2-person and 3-person options.
- 2-person sets — Galbi set ₩64,000 / Yukrab set ₩67,000 / Chateau set ₩105,000
- 3-person sets — Value set ₩89,000 / Assorted set ₩89,000
- 2-person sets include doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and 3pcs of 10-second cheese; 3-person sets include doenjang jjigae and 6pcs
- Lamb ribs can be swapped for tosisal (skirt steak)!

The à la carte menu had jingalbisal (120g) for ₩28,000, lamb ribs (230g) for ₩25,000, hanwoo 1++ tenderloin for ₩39,900, sirloin (120g) for ₩25,000, and tosisal (120g) for ₩25,000. Marinated beef galbi was about to launch at ₩29,000, and at the time of our visit, soju and beer were both ₩3,000.
What's in the 64,000 won galbi set for two
We ordered the galbi set.
- Jingalbisal 120g
- Lamb ribs 230g
- Marinated galbi 120g
- Doenjang jjigae
- Grilling vegetables
We also added two bowls of rice and some beer.

With all the side dishes, sauces, and plenty of meat, the table was completely full! The basic side dishes included napa cabbage kimchi, pickled cucumber and onion, seasoned garlic scapes, doenjang-marinated green peppers, seasoned eggplant, and cabbage salad. Everything was tasty overall, and of the sauces, the mustard sauce suited my taste best.

Does a closed private room smell of smoke?
At Yukrab, the smoke isn't sucked up from above — it's vented down through the grill instead. So even grilling in a closed room, there was less smoke and meat smell than I expected. The trade-off was that the heat wasn't super strong, so the meat took a bit longer to cook...🥲
Jingalbisal → lamb ribs → marinated galbi
The staff explained the eating order and how to grill. Eat in the order jingalbisal → lamb ribs → marinated galbi, and melt the cheese on top of the vegetables. For the lamb ribs, staff will trim the bone for you once cooked, if you ask.

The meat looked good enough that I wanted to start grilling right away, haha.
Jingalbisal was the best cut of the three
We started with the jingalbisal.

The first bite, just dipped lightly in salt, turned out to be my favorite of everything we ate that day. It was tender, not chewy, and stayed pretty juicy even after chewing. I found plain salt worked better than fussing with other dips, haha!!
One bite of meat, then cheers~~ 🍻
Grilled vegetables and 10-second cheese

The galbi set also came with a variety of grilling vegetables: sweet pumpkin, potato, king oyster mushroom, garlic scapes, eggplant, zucchini, rice cake, and even pineapple!

After eating meat non-stop, grilling these alongside it was a nice change. We got three pieces of cheese total, and as the staff suggested, we melted one piece each on top of the eggplant, zucchini, and sweet pumpkin. Eaten with the beef, it was salty and savory and worked really well~
Lamb ribs dipped in curry powder

After finishing the jingalbisal, we put the lamb ribs on next. They took longer to cook than I expected, so I wished I'd put them on earlier alongside the beef... ㅜㅜ
Once cooked enough, we asked staff to trim the bone off. There was a slight, distinctive lamb smell, but nothing overpowering, so I didn't find it off-putting at all. And the lamb ribs were much better dipped in curry powder than salt! It tamed the lamb flavor a bit and paired surprisingly well with the curry taste.

Finally, we grilled the marinated galbi and finished up with the doenjang jjigae included in the set.
The Naver review event at Yukrab Jongno
There was also a Naver review event notice on the table. Depending on party size, you could choose one of steamed egg, 10-second cheese, alcohol, a drink, or a discount on your bill. The event details may change later, so please treat this as accurate as of my visit in September 2026!
Is Yukrab Jongno worth a visit?
Yukrab Jongno has independent private rooms in addition to regular tables, making it good for a quiet meal or gathering. Even with the door closed while grilling, the smell wasn't as strong as I expected, and of all the meats, jingalbisal was the tastiest, haha. The lamb ribs paired well with curry powder, and the set was fairly generous overall — a satisfying meal. If you're looking for a Korean BBQ spot with private rooms near Jonggak Station, give Yukrab Jongno a try :)
