A Chinese restaurant near Seooreung that was easy to visit with my niece
While looking for somewhere to eat near Seooreung, I visited Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch this time. I happened to be out with my niece, so I was looking for somewhere suitable to visit with a child—and I liked that it had a varied menu and easy parking.
It is at 424 Seooreung-ro, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, and is open daily from 07:00 to 22:00, with last orders at 21:30. The parking lot in front fits around 30 cars, and Naver reservations and takeout are available too.

We made a Naver reservation in advance before visiting. These days, rather than just showing up at a popular restaurant, I tend to reserve ahead if Naver reservations are available. Especially since I was with my niece, it was nice to cut down the waiting time.

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a Chinese restaurant near Seooreung where you can try jjamppong, spicy noodle soup with a rich, deep broth. I heard quite a few people come here for meals, perhaps because it is easy to reach not only from Goyang but from nearby Eunpyeong-gu as well.

How were the parking and the kids' self-service bar?
When I went inside, the restaurant felt clean and well maintained overall. Some Chinese restaurants can smell strongly of food or have sticky tables, but this place did not feel like that at all, which I liked. Since I was visiting with my niece, I naturally noticed the cleanliness and the seating space, and it was comfortable for a meal.
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch also has a large parking lot and says it is fully equipped with group seating. I heard it accommodates around 30 cars, and since we all drove, it was really convenient to park~ Parking is surprisingly important when you visit by car, and I liked that it was also easy to get around after eating in the Seooreung area.

Looking over the restaurant information, I saw that Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch says it uses 100% Korean red pepper powder. Broth is especially important in jjamppong, so I found myself paying attention to the ingredients used in it too.

The self-service bar also had children's bowls and rice ready, which was convenient.

Because I was visiting with my niece this time, I put a little extra thought into choosing the menu. Along with spicy dishes such as jjamppong, there were dishes we could order and eat together, so it seemed great for a group to choose what each person wants and share. When dining out with a child, the food matters, of course, but so do the atmosphere and amenities. Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch had an atmosphere that seemed suitable for families visiting with children too.

Crispy tangsuyuk and fluffy shrimp fried rice
The tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork) was crispy outside and moist inside! The batter was not too thick, so I could still enjoy the texture of the meat, and the sweet-tangy sauce made me keep reaching for more. Tangsuyuk really is a great side to order when jjamppong or jjajangmyeon alone feels a little lacking~

I also cannot leave out the shrimp fried rice, which I personally thought was great for sharing. The grains were stir-fried separately rather than clumped together, giving it a nice texture, and the shrimp added a mild, savory bite. It had another flavor with jjajang sauce, so rather than eating only the fried rice, I also liked dipping it lightly into the sauce. My niece enjoyed it too~!!
The jjajangmyeon had that signature gently sweet and savory flavor of black bean sauce. The sauce coated the noodles evenly, so the jjajang flavor came through properly in every bite. Since jjamppong is spicy, ordering jjajangmyeon alongside it and alternating between them was a great combination. It was also an easy dish for my niece to eat, making it a good choice when visiting together!

Ordering several dishes at once gave us the spicy kick of jjamppong, the sweet and savory jjajang, the mildness of shrimp fried rice, and the crisp, sweet-tangy tangsuyuk. Each had a different appeal, so it was great for a group to share.

Spicy, rich jjamppong broth
The jjamppong broth was spicy and rich from the first sip. It was not just aggressively hot; savory notes from the seafood and other ingredients made it the kind of broth I kept spooning up. The noodles paired well with the broth and had a pleasantly chewy texture, so they were easy to slurp down. Anyone who loves a warming spicy broth would probably enjoy this~

Slightly spicy jjamppong dumplings
Another Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch specialty was the jjamppong dumplings, filled with a jjamppong-flavored filling. They were a little spicy, but really delicious!

This time I visited with my niece and enjoyed our meal at a more relaxed pace than usual. It felt so nice to dine out together again after a while 😚

If you are looking for somewhere to eat near Seooreung, keep Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch in mind for spicy jjamppong and a variety of Chinese dishes. Especially for a family meal, dining with children, or a gathering with several people, it was a good place to consider with parking and seating taken into account too ☺️
