Ricero Pasta lunch for two at Hapjeong pasta spot Ragu Hapjeong
In short
Ragu Hapjeong is a pasta and steak restaurant on Tojeong-ro 3an-gil near Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. Two people shared the launch-promotion lunch — Ricero Pasta (Grandma's ragu pasta plus a mini salad) for 15,000 won — along with the Ragu Steak at 29,000 won, which includes a glass of house wine, and a baguette. The ragu meat pulls apart in strands like pulled pork and the steak came out a good medium, all at a fair price.

I eat pasta pretty often, but it's been a while since I had a proper pasta-and-steak combo, so I finally went to check out this Hapjeong pasta spot, Ragu Hapjeong! It's close to Hapjeong Station, easy to get to, and the pasta and steak prices were surprisingly reasonable.

What is Ragu Hapjeong like inside?
Ragu Hapjeong is a pasta and steak specialty restaurant on the basement floor of a building on Tojeong-ro 3an-gil, near Hapjeong Station. Looking at the exterior, it seemed pretty new — very clean and fresh-looking.

Stepping inside, the interior was just as clean, with a really nice atmosphere. It'd be perfect for a date or a get-together in Hapjeong.

The tables are spaced quite far apart, so it feels comfortable.
There's also a clean restroom set up separately inside the restaurant.

Ragu Hapjeong menu and prices: what is Ricero Pasta?
The menu at Ragu Hapjeong was really simple — two pastas and a steak. The pastas are the tomato-based Grandma's Ragu Pasta and the white ragu-based Mush Ragu Pasta.
They happened to have a lunch-only launch promotion menu called Ricero Pasta. It lets you pick one of the two pastas, served together with a mini salad.

The Ragu Steak also comes in a generous portion and includes a glass of house wine. They also sell a concentrated pesto pasta sauce you can take home — apparently one bottle makes about 3-4 servings of pasta.

I took this photo after we'd already started eating, haha...

The house wine that comes with the Ragu Steak
This is the wine that came with the Ragu Steak. I'm a lightweight so I just had a taste, but it was fruity and pretty good! It paired well with the food.

The mini salad in the Ricero Pasta set

The mini salad that comes with the lunch set arrived first. It was called a 'mini' salad, but it was surprisingly filling. The dressing was a balsamic vinegar oil sauce — sweet and tangy, totally my type. The parmesan cheese sprinkled on top had that funky, savory flavor that boosted the whole thing, and the fresh olives and crunchy rusk pieces went really well with the dressing. Delicious.

How does Grandma's Ragu Pasta taste? (Ricero Pasta, 15,000 won)
Ricero Pasta comes with Grandma's Ragu Pasta and a mini salad for 15,000 won.

As soon as I saw Grandma's Ragu Pasta, I could tell the tomato ragu sauce would be rich and deep. Instead of the usual ground meat, the meat shreds apart like pulled pork, which made it even more delicious.

The shredded meat had great texture and a deep, rich flavor that filled my mouth — I really enjoyed it. The usual tart sweetness you'd expect from a tomato sauce was barely there; instead it leaned heavy and rich, which I liked even more.

Ragu Steak, 29,000 won: medium doneness and portion size
Ragu Hapjeong's Ragu Steak is 29,000 won and comes with a glass of house wine.

Next up, the steak arrived with mashed potatoes! I asked for medium, and when I cut into it, the knife glided through so smoothly. Each bite had a rich meaty aroma, and the meat itself was moist and delicious.

Personally, I liked it best paired with the whole grain mustard sauce. There was also a ketchup sauce on the side, but honestly, since the steak itself had such good meaty flavor, I didn't really need to reach for the ketchup.

The portion was plenty for two people to share, and the price was so reasonable too...!

The thinner end pieces were cooked a bit more, while the thicker part was a true medium — and the less-done parts were definitely more tender and tastier.

Baguette with the ragu sauce
The baguette comes in three slices, with a really crispy, well-toasted crust. It's delicious on its own, but it's also perfect for combining with other things on the table — highly recommend it as a side.

Dipping it in the salad's balsamic sauce was especially refreshing and tasty... and it's also great dipped into leftover pasta sauce.

A bit messy looking, but — plate cleared..!!
Is Ragu Hapjeong worth it for pasta in Hapjeong?
Ragu Hapjeong, a great pasta spot in Hapjeong! The good-value Ricero Pasta with its tangy-sweet mini salad and ragu pasta, the Ragu Steak that lets you enjoy a thick, hearty cut alongside a glass of wine, and the crispy baguette that's tasty on its own and pairs beautifully with everything else — every single menu item was delicious.
The prices were quite good given the atmosphere and quality of the food, so if you're looking for a good pasta restaurant in Hapjeong, I'd highly recommend this place.
