I'm pretty clueless about wine and can't hold my liquor at all, but lately I've gotten totally hooked on that vibe of going to a nice, moody bar and slowly sipping a drink with one snack on the table...
So naturally I usually go for something light and sweet, or something non-alcoholic!
Anyway, I found a wine bar with great vibes near Hongdae — a Yeonnam-dong bar called Yozeum (요즘) — and went to check it out.
Where is Yozeum wine bar in Yeonnam-dong?
Yozeum is a wine bar on the 3rd floor of a building at 5 Donggyo-ro 32-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Walk from Hongik University Station toward Yeonnam-dong, and it's up on the 3rd floor there.
I went in on a weekday, a bit early, so I could have a quiet, relaxed time.
It's small but cozy, with a slightly private atmosphere.
Great vibes overall! It felt like a little hideout.

Being a wine bar, Yozeum naturally has a huge wine selection. There's a wide range of reds, whites, rosés, and port wines.
You can order by the bottle, but glasses are also available. There were so many options, but I picked rosé without even thinking twice — because it's the sweetest!
Every wine came with a really clear description, so even someone who knows nothing about wine like me found it easy to choose.
They also have an unlimited wine plan — ₩30,000 per person for 2 hours! There was a review event running too.

Tried out a few different lighting setups... the dim, moody atmosphere was so good.
The basic snack that comes out is salty, savory pretzels.
Karundo Rosé, 12,000 won: easy drinking for light drinkers
Karundo Rosé is ₩12,000 by the glass, an Australian wine said to have a strong strawberry fruit aroma and moderate acidity.
First off, rosé wine is gorgeous just for the color — so pink and pretty.
It's definitely on the sweeter side and you can taste that distinct wine flavor, but it's not overpoweringly boozy, so it was easy to drink without feeling burdened. It had a slightly sparkling feel too, so I think it'd pair well with pretty much any food.
Even someone who can't really drink like me could sip on this comfortably, glass after glass.
La Felicidad Superior, 12,000 won by the glass
My friend picked the red wine — La Felicidad Superior. It's a Spanish red known for cherry and plum-like red fruit aromas, with an ABV of 13.5%.
Definitely a stronger, richer taste for a lightweight like me.
Is the 15,000-won burrata caprese worth ordering?
Yozeum's burrata caprese is ₩15,000. We ordered it simply to pair with the wine.
Burrata cheese has a chewy, mozzarella-like exterior, while the inside is filled with shredded cheese and cream, making it soft and creamy.
The outside is chewy, but the creamy inside spills out with such a nutty, soft flavor — really charming...
The cherry tomatoes were fresh and sweet-tart, and it came with fragrant basil pesto on the side, plus a drizzle of sweet balsamic glaze on top.
The tomatoes' bright flavor, the basil aroma, and the sweetness of the balsamic all together made it great to pair with wine. And the burrata cheese was so generous, it just kept coming out no matter how much we ate.
The burrata cheese itself is so soft and creamy that it's delicious with the tomatoes, delicious with the basil pesto — it was the perfect snack to nibble on while sipping wine.
Sipping wine and eating burrata caprese made me feel weirdly elegant...

Even someone like me — clueless about wine and can't hold my liquor — really enjoyed the atmosphere here...
This Yeonnam-dong bar with such great vibes, Yozeum! The space itself is so cozy, it perfectly suits my taste for bars where you can talk quietly rather than loud, rowdy places.
La Felicidad Superior, Karundo Rosé, and the burrata caprese were all really satisfying. There's a huge wine selection with clear descriptions, so it's great even for someone who doesn't know much about wine, like me. If you're looking for a bar in Yeonnam-dong, I highly recommend it!
