Today I'm sharing a visit to Chammak, a makchang (grilled beef intestines) and pork belly place that just opened near 🚇Isu Station (Chongshin University Entrance)⭐. I love meat, of course, but I'm also a huge fan of offal dishes in general haha.

A space big enough for group dinners

I got a shot of the whole interior! The place is definitely large-scale with a lot of seats, so it seemed like a great spot for a simple meal near Isu Station ☺️

Being able to help yourself to fresh side dishes was such a nice touch! I always feel a bit bad calling staff over every time I need a refill, but with the self-serve bar format, I could just help myself without any of that awkwardness ☺️

At Chammak Isu Station Branch, each table has its own tablet ordering system, so ordering was super easy! There's a wide range of menu items, and I felt the pricing and portion sizes were quite reasonable too.

Disposable aprons provided

Since oil can splatter while frying, they gave us aprons to wear. They're disposable rather than reusable, which felt nice from a hygiene standpoint.

We started by grilling the 🥓pork belly first! The grill plate was hot and heated evenly, so it cooked up fast.

Ta-da~! Look at that delicious-looking pork belly! It tasted exactly like the good pork belly you'd get eating out. It was great as a light palate warm-up before getting into the makchang!

Grilling and texture of the makchang

After the pork belly, here she is skillfully trimming the makchang~ It came out perfectly grilled, clearly the work of a grilling master! The makchang was plump and had a satisfying chewy texture with every bite.

The makchang wasn't just one single type — it came as a mixed combination, so I got to try several different kinds, which felt like a real plus!

They deliberately grilled it extra crispy so you could get double the nutty, crunchy texture! You can practically feel the chewiness just from the photo, right? ✨
