Thick-cut premium sashimi platter for parents, Noryangjin: Ttangkkeut

In short

Ttangkkeut Maeul is a sashimi takeout restaurant inside Noryangjin Fish Market, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, at 1st floor 42-43, just past the South Gate 1. This blogger phone-reserved the medium premium sashimi platter (2-3 servings, 650g) for a meal with her parents, requesting thick slices, and got a bream, flounder, red seabream, sea bass, salmon and frozen bluefin tuna spread with plenty leftover for three people. For ₩100,000 with this composition and quantity, Ttangkkeut Maeul is always the right call.

If you skimp on ingredient costs, business fails! Whenever I visit Noryangjin Fish Market I always go to my favorite sashimi spot Ttangkkeut Maeul, because I know from experience how generous they are... I can't stay away haha.

I ordered the medium premium sashimi platter (2-3 servings), 650g, to eat with my mom and dad!!

With black porgy / large flounder / large red seabream / sea bass / salmon / frozen bluefin tuna, the amount was seriously plentiful even for three people.

Fish flapping around so full of energy... sorry, but I'm going to enjoy you thoroughly. It's great that they have a variety of seafood beyond just the in-season sashimi fish.

If you call ahead and reserve at Ttangkkeut Maeul, they take even better care of you. And you can download a 5% discount coupon on Naver Place, so keep that in mind!

The menu details are listed on Naver Place! If you install the 'Mermaid Empress Pirates' app, you can order directly through it too.

Even on the app it has a perfect 5-star rating with as many as 5,000 reviews — it's a genuinely popular spot in Noryangjin. I reserved by phone ahead of time, picked it up the moment I arrived, and headed straight home ~~❤️

Look at this gorgeous premium sashimi... it's clearly made up of more upscale fish than a regular assorted platter.

Plate packed tight with the premium sashimi composition

It's the medium size, but the amount is what you'd pay for a large size at other places, ㄷㄷ. They're super friendly even to first-time customers, so I became a regular the moment I visited. There's also a chojang (vinegar-chili sauce) restaurant at Noryangjin Fish Market, so ask the staff about it!

My beloved bluefin tuna and salmon... plus black porgy, large flounder, large red seabream, and sea bass too!!! Being able to taste all these usually-pricey fish at once in one premium platter — ㅠㅠ. When I visited it was fireworks festival season, so a lot of people were doing takeout at Noryangjin.

Thickness to your taste — I asked for it thick

Since I reserved ahead, they prepared the fish right at my arrival time, so the sashimi was so fresh it practically looked like it was still moving...

You can even request thickness in advance! I like my sashimi on the thicker side, so they sliced it thick just how I like it haha.

See the amount...? For ₩100,000, you can't get this anywhere else! It's piled high not just on top but packed underneath too, and it comes complete with wasabi, pickled radish, pickled ginger, and radish sprouts.

I quickly prepared soy sauce and chojang and ate with mom and dad haha. Playing the dutiful daughter felt so good..... Dad and I even had a glass of cheongju (rice wine) together ~~❤️

From bluefin tuna to black porgy — how did it taste?

The first bite has to be plain, to taste the sashimi as it is! No dipping. Because they cut such fresh, large pieces, it fills your mouth and you can really taste the ocean.

My pick is definitely the bluefin tuna... even at a dedicated tuna restaurant you barely get a few pieces of this, and it's truly my love ㅠㅠ. Dipped in soy sauce and wasabi, it melts in your mouth.

You can see the salmon is packed with fat too!!! The moment you bite in, the oil bursts out haha.

They say you have to eat the radish sprouts when you have sashimi! The black porgy with its springy texture was also excellent~ You could really feel the right amount of fat and the sashimi's texture, and it paired wonderfully with drinks.

Suddenly ramyeon (instant noodles) appeared behind us ㅋㅋㅋ. Instead of rice, we shared ramyeon alongside the sashimi.

After eating so much sashimi, my glass ended up empty. I prefer soy sauce over chojang since it really brings out the sweetness of the sashimi. ₩100,000 worth of happiness.... with the 5% discount you can get it for ₩95,000!

The three of us still had some left over even after eating our fill. We decided to make hoedeopbap (sashimi rice bowl) with the leftovers the next day.

Ttangkkeut Maeul's sashimi is always the right choice! It's exceptionally fresh, so even stored in a zipper bag and eaten the next day, it tastes just the same.

Final verdict

My favorite sashimi restaurant at Noryangjin Fish Market! Takeout is available, and you can also dine in at the 2nd floor chojang restaurant. This time I tried the medium premium sashimi platter at Ttangkkeut Maeul, and as always, it was thoroughly satisfying, no need to say more.

You can also grab the 5% discount coupon on Naver Place, so make sure to get it for savvy shopping. As the weather cools down these days, it's the perfect season for sashimi haha. Enjoy in-season sashimi at Ttangkkeut Maeul, the Noryangjin sashimi spot❤️
