₩9,900 lunch set pizza and spicy fusilli pizza: Raymond Isu Branch

In short

Raymond Isu Branch is a pizza, chicken, and beer restaurant a 3-minute walk from Isu Station Exit 9 in Dongjak, Seoul. Visiting for lunch with her mom, the writer ordered the ₩9,900 lunch set cheese pizza, the limited-run spicy fusilli pizza, boneless half-and-half chicken, and truffle fries for a total of ₩49,200. The pizza slices were huge so they split them in half, and leftovers packed up easily to go — a solid pizza-and-beer lunch spot near Isu Station.

3 minutes from Isu Station Exit 9: Raymond Isu Branch

Raymond is a pizza spot near Isu Station 🍕 where you can grab pizza and beer together, and I went there with my mom for an Isu date. We visited during lunchtime — it's just a 3-minute walk from Isu Station Exit 9, so even on a hot day we didn't have to walk far to get there.

Seating and layout

There's group seating too, so it'd be fine for a larger group,

and tables ranged from 2-person to 4-person setups. Since it's a place made for beer and pizza together, they had a good variety of beers stocked too.

On one side, water, barley tea, and green tea were set out.

There's a restroom inside the restaurant, which was convenient — it's unisex.

Once you finish ordering, they bring out two forks and small plates per person.

There were so many set menu combos that I first thought about ordering a set, but since you couldn't pick the pizza separately and we probably couldn't finish it all, we just ordered à la carte instead.

A slightly spicy radish pickle comes out with the meal too.

Boneless half-and-half chicken — fried and cheongyang mayo

For the chicken, we ordered half fried chicken and half cheongyang mayo chicken.

I liked that you can order a half-and-half.

The cheongyang mayo was sweet and not too spicy, so it was easy for my mom to eat too, since she doesn't handle spicy food that well. We dipped the fried chicken into the sauce that came with the fries.

Is the truffle fries' aroma strong?

Fries already came included with the pizza, but I wanted to try the truffle fries too, so I ordered them as an add-on. The truffle scent wasn't strong at all — really just a subtle hint, so even people who aren't big fans of truffle could enjoy it.

The lunch-only set and spicy fusilli pizza

Since we came for lunch, we went with the lunch set, which is only available at lunchtime and comes with a drink, fries, and pizza — we picked the cheese pizza. Each pizza slice was huge, so we cut it in half like this to share.

A slice of the lunch set cheese pizza

I ordered the spicy fusilli pizza, which Raymond says is sold in a limited run worldwide for the first time. It was my first time trying it — the flavor was spicy, a bit like tteokbokki (spicy rice cake), and the fusilli on top was nice and chewy. Again, since the slice was so big, we cut it in half — one half fusilli, one half cheese. And here's the cola that came with the lunch set!

You can pack up leftovers too

We had leftover chicken, fries, and half a pizza, so we asked for it to be packed up, and they wrapped it up so nicely.

After the meal, there's candy by the counter, a nice sweet way to end things. It's just a 3-minute walk from Isu Station, so it's easy to get to, and you can order pizza, chicken, fries, and beer all together — if you're looking for a pizza-and-beer or chicken-and-beer spot, or just a pizza lunch near Isu, how about Raymond Isu Branch? ‎*´ސު`*
