Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch in Paju
If you love bread and are in Unjeong, Paju, I think Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch is a place worth visiting at least once.
Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch is on the first floor of Farmstar Tower. It is a compact shop, but once I stepped inside, there were so many different breads to browse one by one. With such a wide selection, I think first-time visitors will spend quite a while wondering what to choose, haha.

I have always liked bread and sandwiches, so I found this place while looking for a good bakery around Unjeong. Boulangerie Tan has locations beyond its Unjeong main branch, but this branch has a broad range of breads and sandwiches, so I would recommend it to anyone looking for a bakery in Unjeong, Paju.
There were so many options, from breads that make an easy meal to desserts that go nicely with coffee, which made looking around really fun.

How Does Boulangerie Tan Make Its Bread?
Boulangerie Tan says its bread is made with a naturally cultivated starter and fermented at low temperatures for more than 14 hours. It is a process meant to bring out the bread's flavor and texture properly.
Boulangerie Tan says it pays close attention to everything from the ingredients to the baking process. It uses only organic flour and French flour, and does not use artificial additives such as dough conditioners, emulsifiers, preservatives, or coloring. Even if it takes a little longer, it sticks to a traditional natural-fermentation method.
You do quietly start caring about what ingredients are used and how something is made, don't you? Boulangerie Tan felt like a place that considers not only making delicious bread, but also helping me choose what I eat with a little more peace of mind through its ingredients and production process. Wholesome ingredients, an honest process, and deep flavor. Taking enough time and care with even a single loaf seems to be what makes Boulangerie Tan special.

A Variety of Breads and Sandwiches
The first thing that catches your eye when you enter Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch is the variety of breads. There were everyday favorites such as sandwich loaves and baguettes, along with ciabatta, salt bread, and sandwiches.
There were especially many kinds of sandwiches. When I visited, lots of people were choosing bread and I also saw many taking it to go. Once you start looking at each bread, the display makes you want to put a little of everything in your basket!

There were also simple breads like baguettes, so it was easy to choose according to your taste. The baguette I had really wanted to try because it is so famous was sold out ㅠㅠ Of course, it is a best-seller. If I visit again, I would like to try the other breads I missed this time, one by one.

How to Store and Warm the Bread
They also had guidance on how to enjoy the bread deliciously if you cannot eat it right away and need to store it.
- Wrap breads in plastic wrap, place them in an airtight container, and freeze.
- Before eating, thaw naturally for 1 hour or air-fry at 180°C for about 3 minutes.
- Do not use an air fryer or microwave for cream-filled items.
I liked that they even provided tips for enjoying each type of bread at its best.

The Nutty, Salty Salt Bread
I was too hungry to wait, so I ate it while walking, haha. The buttery flavor of the salt bread was so good—nutty and salty—that I regretted not buying two.

If You Are Looking for a Bakery in Unjeong, Paju
I ate more at home, and the butter and bread itself were both genuinely delicious. It was soft, and the buttery aroma was exactly my taste ㅠㅠ Overall, Boulangerie Tan Unjeong Main Branch felt like a bakery where you can enjoy everything from more elaborate savory breads to sandwiches and desserts.
If you are looking for a good bakery near Unjeong or Dongpae-dong, I think it is a great place to visit. The selection is especially varied, so it would be good for a quick meal alone or for packing up several kinds of bread to eat at home. I would like to return next time to try other menu items!
I recommend checking the opening hours and closed days before visiting.
