Today I went to Mandala Indian Lounge, a Hapjeong favorite! I was craving Indian curry in Hapjeong and found this place — the weekday lunch set looked like great value, so I went 🍛 It's also close to Hapjeong Station, making it easy to grab for lunch.

What is the 3rd-floor dining room like?

Indoor atmosphere at Mandala Indian Lounge

Mandala Indian Lounge is on the 3rd floor, and once inside, the atmosphere was better than I expected.

The window seats especially get great sunlight and have a bright vibe, perfect for lunch ✨ It also seemed like a nice spot for a date in Hapjeong over curry.

What comes in the 12,000-won weekday lunch set?

Weekday lunch set spread

Mandala Indian Lounge's weekday lunch set is ₩12,000 per person. We ordered two lunch sets and ate

  • 🍛 Chicken makhani
  • 🍛 Chicken tikka masala
  • 🫓 Butter naan
  • 🫓 Butter garlic naan
  • 🥤 Strawberry lassi

This is what we had! The lunch set basically comes with curry + plain naan + rice, so for ₩12,000 the composition was pretty solid. We swapped the plain naan for butter naan and butter garlic naan.

Chicken makhani, best scooped up with naan

First up, chicken makhani! It's a soft, creamy curry, so personally I thought it tasted better dipped in naan than eaten with rice.

Eating it with butter naan especially added a savory note that made the combo even better 🤤 Tear off a piece of naan, pile on the curry, and it disappears in no time, haha.

Chicken tikka masala went well with rice

Chicken tikka masala curry

Eating chicken tikka masala side by side with the makhani, it had a different charm. Personally, this one went better with rice than with naan!

Mixing the curry into the rice and taking a bite with the chicken felt hearty and satisfying. Ordering two kinds of curry and alternating between naan and rice kept things from getting boring.

And of course, if you're getting Indian curry, you need the naan...! The butter naan was tasty, but I especially loved the butter garlic naan. The garlic aroma plus the buttery savoriness was delicious even on its own, and even better piled high with curry 🫶

They were also pretty large, so by the time we finished the rice and naan, we were surprisingly full.

Strawberry lassi

We also ordered a strawberry lassi 🍓 It looked pretty with its pink color and cream on top. It was nice to sip between bites of curry, and the colors photographed really well at the window seat, haha.

Is this good-value Indian curry lunch in Hapjeong worth it?

What I liked most was the weekday lunch set! For ₩12,000 per person you get curry + naan + rice together, which is a solid deal considering typical lunch prices in Hapjeong. You're not just eating curry alone — you get to dip it in naan and mix it into rice, so the portion feels hearty too.

Final verdict on Mandala Indian Lounge

Mandala Indian Lounge 🍛 was a good pick whenever I wanted Indian curry in Hapjeong. Visiting on a weekday lunch especially made it easy to enjoy without breaking the bank, thanks to the lunch set.

If you're visiting with two people like I did, I'd recommend picking different curries and sharing! For me, chicken makhani with naan and chicken tikka masala with rice was the tastiest combination 😋
