Eyelash extension salon in Mapo, Seoul: repeat design, Iyo Shop

In short

Iyo Shop is a one-on-one eyelash extension studio in Mapo, Seoul, a five-minute walk from Gongdeok Station on the second floor of a mixed-use building with an Olive Young. Happy with the natural design and the hold from the last time, the writer came back to Iyo Shop and had the exact same style done again from the previous consultation notes, finished in under an hour. Removing the tape stung slightly, but the result was again subtle rather than overdone, defining the eyes and nothing more.

Anyone else know why lash extensions become such a habit once you start? Haha.

I don't usually wear heavy makeup, but for some reason when my lashes look bare, my whole face feels flat. And curling and mascara-ing every morning takes more effort than you'd think, then I have to carefully remove it all again at night.

Especially on busy mornings, skipping just that one step really cuts down my prep time, so once I get lash extensions done, it's so convenient that I keep going back.

This time I returned to Iyo Shop near Gongdeok Station, the place I was happy with last time. It was the first place I found when looking into lash extensions near Gongdeok Station, and since they nailed the natural style I wanted and the retention was good, I didn't bother looking elsewhere — I went back, this time as a hosted visit but partly paid out of pocket myself.

Where is Iyo Shop and can you park? Walking time from Gongdeok Station

Iyo Shop is about a 5-minute walk from Gongdeok Station, and there's a bus stop right out front too, so it's easy to reach by public transit.

It's on the 2nd floor of a mixed-use building with an Olive Young, so it was easy to find even on my first visit — and this second time was even easier.

If you drive, you can use the building's basement parking lot, with 2 hours free, so there's plenty of time to cover the treatment.

Checking their hours, they're open until 9 PM, which seems great for office workers who want to book an appointment after work.

Inside Iyo Shop: a quiet one-on-one private room

Iyo Shop isn't a place where multiple people get treated at once — it's a space where you get 1:1 service.

The overall vibe is clean but warm, and the treatment space itself feels cozy. The director isn't the chatty type who keeps conversation going — she's more on the quiet side.

I personally prefer just closing my eyes and resting rather than chatting through the whole treatment, so this suited me perfectly. Lying there listening to soft music, the time flew by, haha.

Repeat-visit consultation: the same eyelash design as last time

Since this was a return visit, the notes from my last consultation were still on file, so the consultation itself was much simpler this time.

I don't usually wear heavy makeup, so I don't like styles where only the lashes look overly dramatic. I like a look that stays natural with bare skin or light makeup but still makes my eyes look defined — and since they nailed that last time, I went with the same feel again this time.

Rather than lashes so thick or long that they scream "extensions," I wanted a natural finish that looked like my own lashes were just a bit longer and fuller — and again, that's exactly what I got this time.

I've tried several lash extension shops near Gongdeok Station, but being able to just reference a previous design without needing a long explanation is definitely a perk of returning to the same place.

How long the extensions took, how they looked, and what stung

The treatment at Iyo Shop felt like it took less than an hour.

They tape around your eyes during the treatment, and personally, more than the treatment itself, it was removing the tape at the end that stung a little. If you have sensitive skin, this part might feel a bit uncomfortable.

That said, I could just lie there quietly the whole time, and the overall process moved along quickly.

And the most important part — the finish! Once it was all done and I looked in the mirror, it came out exactly as natural as I wanted, again.

I've had lash extensions done at quite a few places, and finding somewhere that nails the exact style you want isn't as easy as you'd think. I've had lashes come out too long or too thick for my taste, and even had to go home and trim them myself with scissors when I wasn't happy.

But at Iyo Shop, just like last time, I was happy with the finished result as-is, with no need to touch anything up — which is why I came back again.

Most of all, having lash extensions makes mornings so much easier. Skipping the curler and mascara and just doing light skin makeup still leaves my eyes looking fairly defined, so it feels like one less thing to worry about when getting ready. It'd be great to get done before a trip or an important event too.

Is Iyo Shop worth a repeat visit, and who is it for?

Since I was happy with the design and retention on my first visit, I didn't hesitate to come back this time either. This place really suits my taste for a natural, eye-defining design rather than dramatic, full lashes.

The director is on the quiet side, so it should suit people who'd rather relax through the treatment than chat, and the 1:1 space meant it never felt crowded, which I appreciated.

The slight sting when removing the tape was a bit of a downside for me personally, but the design and overall finish quality — the things I care most about — were satisfying again this time. Most of all, I loved that on a return visit, I could comfortably get the same style based on my previous consultation.

It's close to Gongdeok Station and easy to access, with parking available too, so if you're looking for a place for lash extensions near Gongdeok Station — especially if you prefer a subtle, natural style — this could be worth checking out.

I'm going to enjoy this state of not needing a lash curler or mascara every morning for a while, haha.
