Bangi-dong sundae restaurant, mixed platter and suyuk set: Boseung
In short
Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch is a 24-hour sundaeguk (blood sausage soup) restaurant in the middle of the Bangi-dong food alley in Songpa, Seoul. Over dinner with friends, Boseung Hoegwan served a pork jowl suyuk set with sundae and a mixed sundae platter, with a deep, savory broth free of any gamey smell and handmade sundae packed with filling. Walkable from Jamsil, Mongchontoseong and Bangi stations, Boseung Hoegwan works just as well for a late-night hangover bowl as for a group meal.

Today I'm bringing you a review of a gukbap (soup with rice) place in the Bangi-dong food alley that I ate at and really enjoyed. 😊 It's perfect for days with big temperature swings or whenever you're craving something hot and brothy — meet Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch!
I stopped by with friends for a nice dinner, and the broth turned out deeper and cleaner than I expected, so I wanted to give you the full rundown.
Where is Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch, and what is the restaurant like?
Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch sits right at the center of the Bangi-dong food alley, so it's really easy to find. 📍 It's within walking distance of Jamsil Station, Mongchontoseong Station, and Bangi Station, which makes it super accessible.

When you hear "sundaeguk restaurant," you usually picture a cozy old-school spot, but this place has a clean, modern exterior and interior that made a great first impression.

Once inside, the space felt spacious with plenty of room between tables, so there was no cramped feeling at all. It's well kept and clean, which makes it comfortable for hanging out with friends and would work fine as a date spot too. ✨ And since it's open 24 hours, it also seemed like a great choice for a late-night craving or for grabbing a hangover-curing bowl after a few drinks.

Ordering by table kiosk and the side dishes at Boseung Hoegwan
😋 Ordering at Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch was easy thanks to the kiosk installed at each table. There were so many menu options that I spent a while deciding, and ended up ordering mainly from the restaurant's signature dishes. 👍
- Pork jowl suyuk (boiled pork) set with sundae
- Mixed sundae platter
Once we ordered, the basic side dishes were set down first. Kimchi and kkakdugi (radish kimchi) are the most important part of any gukbap place, right? I tried a bite — the kkakdugi was well-fermented, sweet and tangy, and crunchy, while the kimchi had that fresh geotjeori (freshly tossed) feel that paired perfectly with the soup. The side dishes alone earned a passing grade.

What comes on the mixed sundae platter?
🍖 Let me share the mixed sundae platter too. The side dish we ordered was loaded with several different kinds of sundae (Korean blood sausage), which made for fun comparing as we ate. Dipping it lightly in salt or salted shrimp brought out even more savoriness — a real treat. 😋

How do the pork jowl suyuk set and the sundaeguk taste?
🍲 The main dishes I'd been waiting for finally started arriving one by one! First came the pork jowl suyuk set with sundae, and it caught my eye right away visually. Tender pork jowl and sundae were served together, which meant I could keep eating warm food until the very end — I really liked that. The pork jowl suyuk had no gamey smell at all, was moist, and melted smoothly in the mouth — outstanding.
Then I tried the sundaeguk I'd been looking forward to. The moment I took a spoonful of the broth, I immediately understood why this place is known as a top sundaeguk spot in Bangi-dong. I'm honestly pretty sensitive to gamey meat smells, so I can't enjoy sundaeguk just anywhere, but Boseung Hoegwan had absolutely no trace of that meaty smell — the broth was truly rich and savory.
There's a base seasoning paste (dadaegi) already mixed in, so once you stir it into the broth, it turns pleasantly spicy with a deep flavor. The sundae inside wasn't the usual glass-noodle-stuffed kind either — it was handmade and packed full of filling, giving it a really springy, satisfying bite. Mixing in rice and topping it with a piece of well-fermented kkakdugi made for a perfect combination. 👍

Is Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch worth a visit?
✨ Overall, this was a satisfying visit from the food to the cleanliness of the restaurant to how friendly the staff were. If you want a filling, clean meal or you're looking for a can't-go-wrong restaurant near the Bangi-dong food alley, this place is hard to beat.
If you're looking for a Bangi-dong sundaeguk spot known for its rich yet clean broth, I definitely recommend giving Boseung Hoegwan Bangi Branch a try!
