Ansan bar for yukhoe and clam soup: Yuksul
In short
Yuksul is a bar in Gojan-dong, Ansan, where guests can enjoy yukhoe and beef sashimi as drinking snacks. I visited for a second round with friends and shared the Yuksul platter and fresh-clam bomb soup in its spacious two-floor venue. Verdict: a great place for a group to have Korean beef dishes and drinks while catching up.

My friends came to Ansan for the first time in ages, so after a delicious dinner, we wondered where to go for a second round—and that is how we ended up at the Gojan-dong bar Yuksul (육술) 😊

Since it had been so long since we had all met up, we were looking for somewhere we could relax, have a drink with tasty snacks, and chat. I had heard that the yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) and beef sashimi were good here, so we decided to visit.

I was especially looking forward to the fact that they use Korean beef butchered that day. Having tried it myself, I was pleased with both the fresh Korean beef dishes and the spacious, clean atmosphere 🥩🍻

A spacious Gojan-dong bar across two floors
The venue is spread across the first and second floors, so it felt more spacious and comfortable than I expected. There was plenty of room between tables, making it nice to have a drink and talk with friends, and it looked well suited to larger groups too.

It had an atmosphere I would recommend not only for get-togethers with friends, but also dates, group gatherings, and company dinners 👍

The staff were kind, too. What I especially liked was that after the food arrived, they personally explained how to enjoy the yukhoe and beef sashimi for the best flavor 😊

From yukhoe to beef sashimi: the Yuksul platter
We ordered the Yuksul platter, which lets you try several things at once.

It came with yukhoe, beef sashimi, gamtae (seaweed) rolls, homemade ham, and radish soup, so it was great for several people to share as second-round drinking snacks 👏

Yukhoe
The tender, nutty flavor of the Korean beef came through nicely, and its savory depth made it perfect with drinks.

Beef sashimi
Its pleasantly chewy yet tender texture was appealing, and I could really taste the clean, mild flavor of the beef.

Gamtae rolls, homemade ham, and radish soup
The gamtae rolls, with their fragrant seaweed flavor, made for an unusual combination with the yukhoe and beef sashimi. The homemade ham was salty yet mild, making it nice to eat between the beef dishes.
The radish soup had a warm, rich broth that soothed the stomach after the cold yukhoe and beef sashimi.

Each dish had its own character, so it was fun to share them one by one with friends and compare the flavors 😋
Thoughtful drink service, too!
One thing I personally liked at Yuksul was how the drinks were served. The beer came in a Stanley cup to keep it cold, so we could enjoy it chilled right to the end 🍺❄️ The highball was served beautifully in a proper highball glass rather than an ordinary cup, which was pleasing to look at as well 🥃✨

I liked being able to feel that thoughtfulness for customers in these little details.

Fresh-clam bomb soup added to finish our second round
As we ate the Yuksul platter, we started craving a warm, spicy broth, so we also ordered the fresh-clam bomb soup 🔥

It was loaded with fresh clams, giving the broth a refreshing, deep flavor. Spicy but clean-tasting, it paired wonderfully with drinks. Starting with yukhoe and beef sashimi, then finishing with the spicy clam soup, was very satisfying for a second round 🍶
