Ansan restaurant for daechang hot pot courses: Horangi Gul Gojan
In short
Horangi Gul Gojan Branch is a gopchang and daechang hot pot restaurant in Gojan-dong, Ansan. Three of us—my wife, a friend, and I—stopped by for a second round and followed the medium-spicy hot pot with Jjimppong noodles and Toowoomba risotto. Verdict: a place I’d return to for the first round next time!

Today, I’m introducing Horangi Gul Gojan Branch, a great spot in Gojan-dong, Ansan, that my wife, a friend, and I visited for our second round. 😊

I’m usually quite careful when choosing a restaurant, but this place is known as a Blue Ribbon restaurant specializing in gopchang (beef intestines) and daechang (beef large intestine) hot pot, so I arrived with high expectations.

To give you the conclusion first: we came for a second round, but next time I want to come here for the first! 👍 I was happy with both the food and the atmosphere.

A second-round stop for my wife, friend, and me
We had our first meal elsewhere that day, then looked around Gojan-dong for a place for round two. We wanted somewhere good for a drink with hot pot, and Horangi Gul Gojan Branch immediately caught our eye. 🐯
Once inside, the space was larger than I expected. It spans the first and second floors, so it didn’t feel cramped at all.
The clean, modern mood was enhanced by soft lighting, too.

It looked great for drinks with friends, and also perfectly suitable for a date. ✨

Ordering was easy, too: we simply used the QR code on the table. 📱
Daechang hot pot, the Blue Ribbon restaurant’s signature dish
That day, we ordered the Horangi Gul daechang hot pot at the medium-spicy level!

It was generously filled with gopchang and daechang, making it great to share among three people.
More than anything, the broth stood out. It had a pleasantly spicy kick, yet was deep and rich—so good. 🤤

It wasn’t just hot; the savory depth and the rich, nutty flavor of the daechang came together beautifully, making me keep spooning up the broth.

I’m not very good with extremely spicy food, but the medium level was easy enough to enjoy without feeling overwhelming, which I appreciated.
Have the daechang with wasabi!
If you want to enjoy the daechang in a slightly different way, ask for wasabi! 💚
Wasabi is not set out on the table by default; just ask a staff member and they will bring it over. I tried the daechang with a little wasabi on top, and the wasabi’s sharp kick paired surprisingly well with the daechang’s rich, nutty flavor. 😋
Personally, I’d recommend this wasabi pairing to anyone who loves daechang!
Jjimppong noodles and Toowoomba risotto with the hot-pot broth
As we ate the hot pot, the rich broth felt too good to waste, so we added Jjimppong noodles.
The hot-pot broth soaked right into the noodles, turning them into another delicious treat. 🤤 After enjoying the noodles, we still had broth left.

But it didn’t end there!
Toowoomba risotto made with the remaining broth
The final dish we enjoyed at Horangi Gul Gojan Branch was Toowoomba risotto. It is not a separately served dish; instead, it is made using the hot-pot broth left after finishing the Jjimppong noodles.

Making risotto with the remaining broth created such a distinctive flavor: the hot pot’s rich depth blended with Toowoomba’s creamy, nutty character. 😋
- 🍲 Daechang hot pot
- 🍜 Jjimppong noodles
- 🧀 Toowoomba risotto
Eating it in this sequence felt like enjoying one dish in several different ways. I especially loved being able to make the most of the remaining broth right to the end. 👍

A spacious setting for dates and work dinners alike
I was satisfied not only with the food at Horangi Gul Gojan Branch, but also with its atmosphere. With spacious first- and second-floor areas, it works well for larger groups, and the overall feel is clean and modern.
That’s why I think it would suit 💕 dates with a partner, 🍻 drinks with friends, 👥 work dinners, and 🥳 group gatherings alike.

We went for round two, but next time, round one!
This time, my wife, our friend, and I visited for a second round, but the strongest thought I had afterward was:
This place would be really good for the first round, too!
The daechang hot pot alone is filling enough, and with Jjimppong noodles followed by Toowoomba risotto, it seems perfect for enjoying a meal and drinks together. On the other hand, I also recommend visiting for a second round like we did and having a drink with the hot pot! 🍻 In short, it felt like a Gojan-dong restaurant that suits both first and second rounds.

Horangi Gul Gojan Branch: final thoughts

Because it was somewhere I could comfortably enjoy a drink with my wife and friend, I came away very satisfied. If you are looking for gopchang hot pot, daechang hot pot, or an izakaya with a nice atmosphere in Gojan-dong, Ansan, I recommend Horangi Gul Gojan Branch. 🐯
Next time, instead of coming for round two, I’m planning to visit from round one and properly enjoy everything from the hot pot to the Jjimppong noodles and Toowoomba risotto. 😋
