Meat-only sundae-guk and 3 handmade sundae in Gimpo: Paldam Sundae
In short
Paldam Sundae Gimpo Main Branch is a sundae-guk (blood sausage soup) and handmade sundae restaurant at 5 Ungok-ro in Gimpo, Gyeonggi, open only from 10am to 3pm. Even on a weekday visit 40 minutes before closing the restaurant was busy, and the order was clear sundae-guk with the meat-only option, spicy sundae-guk and one plate of handmade assorted sundae. Between the unlimited organ meat self-bar and the house-made cheongyang chili sundae, Paldam Sundae is worth a return trip.

I wanted to recommend Paldam Sundae to anyone looking for a great sundae-guk (blood sausage soup) or handmade sundae spot in Gimpo. Even though it's only open for a short window, there was enough of a crowd that I understood why the moment I tried it. I had the clear sundae-guk, the spicy sundae-guk, and the handmade assorted sundae — and honestly the handmade sundae, the kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and the baechu kimchi (napa cabbage kimchi) were all so good I want to go back.

Paldam Sundae: a Gimpo sundae-guk restaurant open only until 3pm
Paldam Sundae Gimpo Main Branch is a sundae-guk restaurant open only from 10am to 3pm, closing right after lunch hours. A friend recommended it after going with her parents and raving about it, so I got curious and visited myself. I went on a weekday too, arriving about 40 minutes before closing thinking it'd be quiet by then — but nope, it was seriously packed.

Inside Paldam Sundae

The place isn't huge, but it's clean with plenty of tables. Looking at the walls, there were TV appearances and a ton of celebrity autographs. I even spotted signatures from Min Kyung-hoon and Jeon Hyun-moo, so yeah, this place is legit famous.
Unlimited organ meat bar and self-serve side dishes

The best part here — organ meat refills are unlimited! No wonder so many guys come here, haha.

You can grab more side dishes from the self-bar too, and the baechu kimchi and kkakdugi were genuinely delicious. They went so well with the sundae-guk that I refilled them multiple times.

We ordered four things total: clear meat-only sundae-guk ₩10,000, spicy meat-only sundae-guk ₩11,000 × 2, and handmade assorted sundae ₩11,000. What I liked here is you can customize what goes into your sundae-guk — fat + meat, meat only, sundae only, or everything together. So many options that even people who love sundae-guk but can't handle organ meat or certain parts can order comfortably.

My husband got plenty of the sundae and organ meat he loves, and the side dishes were clean and tidy too — kkakdugi, baechu kimchi, salted shrimp, ssamjang, onion and garlic, chili, and salt.
Clear meat-only sundae-guk, spicy sundae-guk and handmade assorted sundae
My husband and mom both ordered spicy, and I went with clear meat-only sundae-guk. They say the spicy version sells more, but the clear broth was genuinely delicious too.

The broth wasn't greasy at all — clean but rich, and I kept scooping spoonful after spoonful. I'm honestly not a huge fan of sundae swimming in broth so I chose meat only, and there was a generous amount of meat, which I was happy about.

I tried a bite of the spicy sundae-guk too and it was spicy and delicious? I guess it's a bestseller for a reason, haha. My husband and mom were sweating and loving every bite. Both said they'd definitely come back.

And if you come to Paldam Sundae, you really have to try the handmade assorted sundae too. The plate comes with nut sundae, blood sundae, and cheongyang chili sundae, and it's clearly different from regular sundae. Because it's handmade, the filling is packed so full that one bite fills your mouth, and it's savory.

Of the three, the cheongyang chili sundae was my personal favorite. The subtle spiciness cuts through any richness, and I kept reaching for more. If you're visiting with a group, definitely add a plate of the handmade assorted sundae!
Is Paldam Sundae worth going back to in Gimpo?
There's clearly a reason so many people come here. From the handmade sundae to the clean clear broth to the spicy version, you can eat according to your taste — and best of all, being able to choose what goes into your sundae-guk makes it easy to bring along people who aren't into sundae or organ meat.

The baechu kimchi and kkakdugi were so good that I left feeling really full and satisfied. I'd definitely go back! Next time, if I'm with a group again, I'll make sure to order the handmade assorted sundae too. If you want a proper bowl of sundae-guk in Gimpo during lunch hours, this place is worth the trip.
