Indian restaurant in Gangnam for a Set C dinner: India The Durbar

In short

India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch is an Indian restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, serving curries and tandoori chicken near Samseong Station. We ordered the ₩40,000 Set C for two to celebrate a job change, alternating chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, and crisp naan. A fun, good-value choice for a slightly different celebration dinner.

To celebrate a job change, we wanted a dinner that felt a little different from usual, so we headed to India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch, an Indian restaurant near Samseong Station! It is in a convenient spot for people working nearby, and the set-menu prices were better than expected, making it easy to try several Indian dishes. For ₩20,000 per person, we got tandoori chicken, two curries, naan, rice, soup, and drinks, so personally I thought it was a great-value place too~

Just head down to B1 of the building. The red sign is visible from outside, so once we got close, the entrance was not hard to find.

Inside, it is mostly brick and wood tones, with Indian-style artwork and decor, so it had a different mood from the food we usually eat! We came to celebrate the job change and wanted something a little unusual, and it was a good Samseong Station restaurant for an occasion like that.

Looking at the menu, there were plenty of set options for enjoying several dishes together, not just individual curries.

Lunch sets started at ₩15,000, but since we were there for dinner, we ordered the good-value India The Durbar Set C. (A full course starting with soup for ₩20,000 per person.)

Smooth chicken mushroom soup

First out was the chicken mushroom soup! It was smooth and mild, a nice light way to start before eating dishes with spices.

A set for two with two curries

Then there was the chicken tikka masala curry, which my partner practically finished! Rather than having the creamy feel of butter chicken, it was a little spicier and packed with chicken, so I would recommend it to anyone who likes a moderate kick.

We also ordered palak paneer, one of my personal favorites! It is a spinach-based curry with cheese, and its distinctive nutty flavor went really well with the naan.

Crisp Indian naan and rice

Naan and rice included in the set

The naan felt a little more crisply baked than naan I had eaten at other Indian restaurants!

Rather than eating it plain, we piled on the curry; the crisp parts soaked up the sauce and somehow suited it even better, haha. Dipping it in the palak paneer and then the chicken tikka masala made choosing both curries worthwhile~

Rice eaten with curry

And something I personally loved was that the set came with rice as well as naan! Curry really needs rice at the end, so it was great for finishing every last bit of sauce.

A set that includes boneless tandoori chicken

Boneless tandoori chicken is included in the set too. Having tandoori chicken in between the curries and naan made it a pretty substantial dinner for two! (Three pieces of chicken per person.)

Set drink and a glass of red wine
Sprite and red wine for a celebratory dinner

For the set drink, I had Sprite for the first time in a while! And since it was a job-change celebration, I added a glass of red wine too. The red wine was ₩6,000 a glass, and they poured more than I expected, so it felt like good value. It also paired nicely with the spiced chicken curry, making this a good option for a lightly celebratory dinner rather than just an ordinary meal~
