Gangnam hair salon autumn chocolate brown: Beorn Hair Cheongdam
In short
Beorn Hair Cheongdam is a hair salon in Gangnam, Seoul, where I evened out three layers of patchy color with an all-over dye job. Staggered application, scalp protection, and a cool shampoo-room massage made the autumn chocolate brown transformation especially comfortable. Verdict: a polished seasonal color reset with thoughtful care.

With the autumn breeze starting to blow, my hair in the mirror looked especially dry and patchy. I had been barely keeping up with just root touch-ups every month, using being busy as an excuse, but this time I wanted a real change—so after asking around for a well-regarded Cheongdam-dong hair salon, I went for it. There are so many places known for great styling, but I wanted to find someone truly skilled, so I scrutinized searches for “Cheongdam-dong hair salon” for days. The place I finally chose after being so picky was Beorn Hair Cheongdam.

Three layers of patchiness from repeated root touch-ups
Come to think of it, I had been getting by with root color every single time. I was short on time and trying to save money, so I kept only connecting the new growth to the old color—and before I knew it, the outer layer and inner hair had split into three different color bands. That uneven layering was exactly why my hair never felt fully put together, even after a monthly trim. As a designer, I am fairly sensitive to subtle differences in color, and with the seasons changing, I decided an all-over tone-down color to calmly cover everything was essential.
It is just a short walk from Gangnam-gu Office Station on the Bundang Line, so it was really easy to reach by public transit.

An open, airy Beorn Hair Cheongdam
The moment I climbed the stairs and stepped into Beorn Hair, the open space and clean, stylish interior caught my eye—there was not a hint of stuffiness.

Usually, the chemical smell at a hair appointment can make my nose sting, but the air circulated well here, and there was a subtle, pleasant fragrance throughout my visit.

I have visited quite a few Cheongdam-dong hair salons, but I especially loved how widely spaced the service chairs were. I could enjoy time completely to myself without having to make eye contact with other clients.

An all-over color consultation that checked warmth and damage
The treatment I chose this time was an all-over color. Before starting, my stylist carefully ran her hands through my hair, closely checking the damage at the ends and the reddish warmth in my color.

Here is my before hair. You can see just how serious the situation was, right?

They even gave me coffee and snacks to enjoy in the middle, so I was so comfortable that I lost track of time.

A comfortable appointment with staggered application and scalp protection
To make the tone of my patchy existing color and newly grown roots even, they thoughtfully applied the color twice at different times. From a scalp-protection treatment to prevent stinging to ear covers, they took care of every detail, so even I, with a sensitive scalp, could sit comfortably.

Shampoo-room acupressure and the finished chocolate brown
In the shampoo room, where the color was rinsed out, my fatigue truly melted away. After carefully emulsifying the color with lukewarm water, the wonderfully firm acupressure from the back of my neck all the way to the tendons behind my ankles was so refreshing it almost tingled. The capable hands made it feel as though I had received a dedicated head-spa course, and a whole week’s worth of tiredness disappeared.

The moment my hair was blow-dried and I looked in the mirror! The messy patchiness that had been bothering me disappeared, replaced by a rich autumn chocolate brown that flowed beautifully through my hair.
It had a sophisticated shine without being over the top, and even made my complexion look a shade brighter. I could feel with my whole body why reviews from people looking for a stylish Cheongdam-dong hair salon were so glowing.

After the all-over color, even my overall impression looked different. Rather than only touching up your roots every month, tidying up your overall tone once whenever the season changes makes a huge difference to the finished look of your hairstyle.

Senior director Hanna did my hair that day. She carefully considered not only the condition of my hair but also my overall vibe, then pinpointed an autumn shade that suited me perfectly. I was quietly impressed by her expert eye.
How to make hair color last longer
To make your color last, they say it is best to wash with lukewarm water for about two days after the appointment and use shampoo made for color-treated hair. Before blow-drying, lightly apply a hair oil that protects against heat damage, and you can maintain soft, flowing texture even in dry autumn winds.
