Bojeong-dong café street American BBQ: rib and brisket platter, Rustic

In short

Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch is an American BBQ restaurant on the Bojeong-dong café street in Yongin, Gyeonggi. A couple booked a weekday 6:30 PM table and ordered the Rustic BBQ Platter (baby back ribs, brisket and pulled pork) with an extra Toowoomba pasta; the baby back ribs came cleanly off the bone and the tender brisket had a striking smoky aroma. For properly smoked American BBQ on the Bojeong-dong café street, Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch is well worth recommending.

Where is Rustic Smokehouse Bojeong Branch? Hours and parking

Rustic Smokehouse Yongin Bojeong Branch is an American BBQ restaurant at 11-14 Jukjeon-ro 43beon-gil, Giheung-gu, Yongin, on the Bojeong-dong café street. It is open 11:00–21:30, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00, and you can park right in front.

It's been a while since I came out to the café street on a weekday, and... the atmosphere is so good. I was craving American BBQ, so we came to Rustic Smokehouse ^^

We arrived at 6:30 PM, and being able to park right in front of the restaurant was so convenient.

What is Rustic Smokehouse like on a weekday evening?

Rustic Smokehouse Bojeong Branch has an American-style interior with wood-tone tables and wall decorations, and upbeat rock music playing. Even on a weekday evening a few tables were already taken... definitely a popular-restaurant feel. The tables and the whole room, with the wood tones and wall decorations... feel so American. Add the upbeat rock music and the mood is something special.

We had a reservation, and this is the basic table setting... The tableware doesn't feel cheap, it's neat and clean, which I liked.

Is Rustic Smokehouse good for kids and groups?

Rustic Smokehouse Bojeong Branch has baby chairs, and the seating runs from tables for 2 or 4 up to large family gatherings. Since they keep baby chairs on hand, I'd guess lots of young families come on weekends. There's room for tables of 2 or 4 and even big family get-togethers... the atmosphere is great. The interior and lighting are pretty too, so I'd recommend it for meeting up with friends as well.

What should two people order? Rustic BBQ Platter plus Toowoomba pasta

The Rustic Smokehouse menu has many options: sets by type of BBQ, sets by special cuts, individual dishes and more. There were only two of us, and I spent about 10 minutes working through the options and doing the math before choosing, haha. There are sets by BBQ type, sets by special cut, individual sets and so on...

The two of us ordered the Rustic BBQ Platter, haha. We focused on eating properly smoked BBQ: baby back ribs, brisket, pulled pork and more, haha.

It felt like not enough, so we added a Toowoomba pasta as an individual dish, haha.

How is the Toowoomba pasta at Rustic Smokehouse?

The Toowoomba pasta (a creamy, spicy cream-sauce pasta) at Rustic Smokehouse has a thick, rich cream sauce that isn't watery, with a spiciness that keeps it from feeling heavy. The Toowoomba pasta came out first... the creamy sauce wasn't thin but thick and rich, nutty and delicious... The noodles were cooked just right too, and it was even better than the pasta I've had at the pasta places among the Bojeong-dong café street restaurants.

We scraped up every last bit of sauce with the bread and ate it together... It has a spicy kick that isn't too heavy.

How were the baby back ribs and brisket on the Rustic BBQ Platter?

The Rustic BBQ Platter comes with baby back ribs, brisket and pulled pork, plus bread and coleslaw. The BBQ platter has finally arrived! Bread comes with it too, and putting coleslaw and brisket between the bread is so good...

Finally face to face with the baby back ribs ^^ They must have smoked them for so long... the meat comes right off the bone, with no off smell, and it's so delicious. The smoky aroma is very different from the ribs you get at Outback. I doubt many places among the Bojeong-dong café street restaurants serve American BBQ like this.

The brisket was so soft it almost fell apart, and it went so well with the sauce, with a spicy note and no greasiness. Personally, American BBQ has to be eaten with beer... T_T but we had other plans after dinner, so not being able to have beer with it is a big regret.

The bread was warm and soft too. Tearing off a piece and wrapping it around onion, brisket and coleslaw made me so happy, haha.

The baby back ribs tear apart so easily you don't even need a knife. They went really well with the sauce too, so the flavor was great.. My wife especially loved them, and she picked them up and tore into them by hand, haha.

What's on the Rustic Smokehouse self-serve bar?

The self-bar at Rustic Smokehouse Bojeong Branch has sliced onion, jalapeños and a variety of sauces. It was handy that you can add whatever you like to suit your own taste.

Is Rustic Smokehouse Bojeong Branch worth a return visit?

The atmosphere is so good it feels like being in America. The wood-tone interior and lighting feel special, and I think it would be even better in winter. The tender brisket and baby back ribs were especially delicious... I definitely plan to come back with the kids. Highly recommended.
