Does an open-run really mean no waiting?

Thanks to the 11:30am open-run, I got in without any wait haha

The eel set for two

Ordered the eel set for two

Since it comes as a full set, it wasn't just eel sitting there alone — there were plenty of side dishes to eat along with it. Eel itself tends to be rich and fatty, so pairing it with these clean side dishes cuts the greasiness and honestly lets you eat more lol.

Ginger and white kimchi side dishes for the eel

Personally, ginger and the side dishes matter a lot to me when eating eel, and since the set came with all sorts of extras, the meal felt much more substantial.

Eel grilled fresh over charcoal

First, the properly hot charcoal comes out,

followed by the plump eel.

The moment the eel arrived, what struck me first was how thick the flesh was👍 Grilled over charcoal, it had a subtle smoky aroma too.

Golden-brown outside, moist and tender inside

Best of all, since the staff grill it for you, you just wait comfortably and eat it at its most delicious. They handle the timing and flipping, so it's great even for eel first-timers or anyone who finds grilling a hassle.

A little wasabi on top of the salted oysters served with the eel makes for a nice warm-up,

and after just a short wait, the eel — enhanced with domestic charcoal and domestic sun-dried salt — comes out perfectly grilled🔥

You can tell the skill just from watching them grill

👏👏👏 The flesh isn't too soft, it's got a nice chewiness, and the skin is grilled crispy, so all you have to do is enjoy it. The staff are so, so sweet♡

Good pairings to try

It's tasty with ginger, or wrapped in white kimchi or pickled perilla leaves, but eating it with green onion kimchi is amazing.

Why we ordered both cold noodle dishes

Eating eel made us crave naengmyeon (cold noodles), so we ordered both bibim naengmyeon and mul naengmyeon ☺️ Eel and naengmyeon is a combo that can't fail lol

Mul naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon ordered together

A savory, fatty bite of eel followed by a chilled bite of mul naengmyeon cleans your palate right up, and the bibim naengmyeon was spicier and tangier than expected, which went great with the eel. The mul naengmyeon broth wasn't too intense or too bland — sipping it when things got a bit greasy really hit the spot. It felt like a waste to pick just one, so we got both, and it was the right call lol.

And I thought that would be it... but it couldn't end there 😝

Extra order of one grilled eel

One more eel, ₩35,000, paid ourselves

The eel was so good we paid out of pocket for one more. How could you not, when it's this delicious?🤔 (extra eel, ₩35,000) At first I thought the two-person set would be plenty, but once we started eating, the eel just kept going haha. Everyone knows the feeling of eating more even when full because it's just too good, right?!

Rather than deciding upfront to add an extra piece, it might be better to try the set first and add more if you're still hungry.

Don't skip the nurungji at the end

If you've still got room in your stomach at the end, definitely try the nurungji (scorched rice)! You'll get that satisfying, refreshed feeling even without soda💙💙
