Bucheon pub for spicy bulgogi pastry pizza: People & Peoples

In short

People & Peoples is a pub in Bucheon’s Sang-dong food alley, with outdoor seating and spacious indoor tables. I had spicy bulgogi pastry pizza with beer and an apple highball indoors; the pizza took a while, but I liked its crisp, nutty crust and sweet-spicy sauce.

Where is People & Peoples, and how late is it open?

I went to People & Peoples (피플앤피플즈), in Bucheon’s Sang-dong food alley, for pizza and beer. Its address is 17-28 Gilju-ro 121beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, on the first floor of Gukcheon Building. According to the original post, it is open daily from 4 PM to 2 AM the following morning, making it a place for pizza and beer in the evening or late at night.

What are the outdoor and indoor seating like?

The food alley was busy on the day I visited, and quite a few people were seated outside in front of the pub. I wanted to sit outdoors too, but chose an indoor table farther in because I wanted a quieter conversation that day.

There were also large indoor tables where several people could sit together. I thought they would work well for meeting friends or a casual work dinner.

The interior had a slightly dark pub atmosphere, with blue lighting that caught my eye. There were more indoor seats than I expected. Various wine bottles and duck figurines were displayed, and plants around the space made it enjoyable to look around.

What did I choose, and how much did it cost?

As I looked through the menu at the kiosk, I noticed that it described the dishes as house-made. There was also a set menu pairing pizza or lasagna with three bottles of beer.

The first options I considered were the Ambrosia pastry pizza for ₩26,000 and beef roll lasagna for ₩23,000. The Ambrosia pizza was listed as the number-one best menu item, but I did not choose it because my companion does not particularly like shrimp. I was curious about the lasagna too, but wanted pizza more that day.

In the end, I ordered the spicy bulgogi pastry pizza. Its description of a sweet-spicy flavor sounded like it would suit my taste.

How long did the pizza take, and how did it taste?

The beer came first, so I drank it while waiting for the pizza. It took a little while to prepare, and my companion and I drank almost two and a half beers before the pizza arrived. I did not note the exact wait time, but the food did not come out quickly.

The pizza I had been waiting for arrived. Its shape was different from a typical pizza, and the pastry crust around the edge especially stood out.

The pastry was crisp and nutty, so I enjoyed it right to the edges. The sauce had a rich flavor and the sweet-spicy taste I like. I had planned to eat just a slice or two with my beer, but kept reaching for more.

I also liked the house-made hot sauce. A light dip added more heat to the pizza, and I refilled the hot sauce twice that day.

How were the beer and highball with the pizza?

I had nearly finished my beer before the pizza arrived, but eating the pizza made me want beer again. The Cass draft beer I had that day was cold and tasty too.

Next, I ordered an apple highball. Its apple sweetness and freshness made it a good final drink.

Could I charge my phone at the table?

There was also a wireless charger at my table. It was convenient to charge my phone right at the table without looking for another place to do it.
