I finally visited Choi Main Branch, the croissant spot I’d wanted to try forever! Anyone who loves bread has probably heard of it. The moment I walked in, a savory buttery aroma filled the entire shop, and I was honestly happy right from the entrance. Today I went all in with the famous blueberry croissant, a chocolate shot, the signature No. 1 Croissant, and the signature latte!

It received a Blue Ribbon in 2024! 👍

🤗 The instant I opened the door, the trays piled with croissants caught my eye. With every layer so distinct and their beautifully golden-baked look, there was just no way to pass them by! The interior was clean and atmospheric too—perfect for chatting with a friend or taking pretty dessert photos. Since I ate there, I could enjoy the flavor of the freshly baked pastries just as it was, which made it even better.

There are so many breads that it’s fun just looking around! 💕💕

The first thing I tried was the blueberry croissant! The outside had those popping, flaky layers, while the inside was soft and moist. In particular, the tanginess of the blueberries inside completely cut through the butteriness that could otherwise have felt a little rich.

I paired it with a chocolate shot, and the deep, slightly bitter yet sweet chocolate seeped between the crisp pastry layers, making the flavor feel so much deeper! If you love sweet-and-tangy desserts, you absolutely have to try this one 🍫

It isn’t called the “No. 1 Croissant” for nothing! It stayed true to the basics, yet the butter flavor came through incredibly deep and rich. Every bite went crunch! and filled my mouth with nutty goodness; the layers were fine and tender, letting the charm of a classic croissant shine properly. Breads topped with all kinds of things are delicious too, but this menu made me think that a place is only truly great when its basic foundation is excellent 💛

You can’t leave out a drink with dessert, right? I ordered Choi Main Branch’s signature latte. It’s far creamier than a regular latte, with the rich, nutty flavor of milk coming through in a full-bodied way. The slight bitterness of espresso and soft milk blend beautifully, so a bite of sweet, crisp croissant followed by a sip of the signature latte felt like pure heaven! I was 200% satisfied with the pairing.
