Nonhyeon BBQ restaurant, 600g of pork belly for two: Daepae Market
In short
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch is a 24-hour thin-sliced pork belly restaurant in the food alley by Exit 3 of Nonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Arriving after 8pm on a Tuesday, two diners found every table full (so no interior photos), then ordered 400g of the 1.5mm cut plus 200g of the 3mm cut, spicy jjamppong Yeol Ramen and self-serve fried rice. With no gamey pork smell and a well-stocked self-serve side dish bar, Daepae Market earns its spot among Nonhyeon's best Korean BBQ.

Whoa, I've been to this Nonhyeon pork belly spot a few times but I had no idea it was open 24 hours..? 😦 hahaha I never knew
Daepae Market Gangnam Nonhyeon Branch
Where is Daepae Market? Nonhyeon Station Exit 3 food alley, now on the 1st floor
Coming into the food alley from Nonhyeon Station Exit 3, you'll spot Daepae Market. It used to be on the 2nd floor of the same building, but apparently it moved down to the 1st!! I had no idea and went straight up to the 2nd floor to wait after making a reservation 👀
We visited past 8pm on a Tuesday and it was fully booked, so I couldn't even get any interior shots ㅠㅠ Seriously so many people ( •̀ᴗ•́ )و ̑̑ Must've been a company dinner or something!

How much is the pork belly? ₩4,900 per 100g, 1.5mm or 3mm
Thin-sliced pork belly (400g), standard 1.5mm thickness. At ₩4,900 per 100g, the price is pretty reasonable 👏🏻 There are two thickness options, 1.5mm and 3mm — we tried the standard thickness first.
Besides thin-sliced pork belly, they also had thin-sliced pork shoulder, thin-sliced pork belly (five-layer), and chewy pork belly. What we ordered was Duroc pork, apparently raised on chestnuts!

Self-serve bar at Daepae Market: ₩2,000 per person, unlimited side dishes
You have to pay ₩2,000 per person for the table setting and self-serve bar. It might feel a bit disappointing to pay for basic side dishes, but given the variety and the fact that you can take as much as you want, it's not bad! The vegetables were completely fresh too ദ്ദി( ˃ ᵕ ˂ദ്ദി)

I loaded up on nothing but my favorite side dishes ᡣ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶𐭩 ♡ Everything I brought back was genuinely delicious

Grilling thin-sliced pork belly on the low setting, with free-refill mushrooms
As soon as the grill warmed up, on went the meat 🥩🍖 The biggest advantage of thin-sliced pork belly over the thicker cut is that it cooks fast, so there's no long wait ( ៸៸ › ⩊ ‹ ៸៸)♡ Grilling it in small batches means you keep eating warm meat, which makes it even tastier

There's a sign saying to grill the meat on setting 1 (low heat)! Probably written there so it doesn't burn

We grilled kimchi and mushrooms alongside the pork belly 🧚🏻♀️✨ Unlimited mushrooms are truly the best ദ്ദി⸝⸝•̀֊•́⸝⸝)

The thin-sliced pork belly cooked up golden brown in no time ᡣ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶𐭩 ♡ You know you're supposed to grab two pieces at a time with thin-sliced pork, right ☺️ This would actually be great for company dinners too. Since it cooks so fast, there'd be less time for awkward silences,,, I'm not really sure what makes a thin-sliced pork belly place good, but this one had no pork smell and plenty of side dishes, which made the meal even better. Officially a good pork belly spot in Nonhyeon ദി՞˶ෆ . ෆ˶ ՞

Spicy jjamppong Yeol Ramen, ₩6,000: broth to cut the rich pork
Spicy jjamppong ramyeon (₩6,000). You can't eat meat without some kind of soup, so we ordered this!! As part of the sponsored group, we weren't allowed to join the Naver review event, so we ordered the ramyeon separately.
They also had Sichuan jjapaghetti and mild Anseong tangmyeon, but since the meat was pretty greasy, we went with the spicy option - ̗̀ෆ⎛˶'ᵕ'˶ ⎞ෆ ̖́- You can't see it in the photo but there's an egg in there too 👍🏻 Scallions, egg, done! Wait, is that an old-person phrase too? ㅎㅋㅎㅎㅠ

Is 400g enough for two? We added 200g of the 3mm cut
With two people, 400g just wasn't enough to fill us up, so we ordered an extra 200g. This time we went with 3mm — there's a noticeable difference in thickness!

Finishing with self-serve fried rice, ₩3,000
Self-serve fried rice (₩3,000), one serving. Korea's dessert really can't be skipped - ̗̀ෆ⎛˶'ᵕ'˶ ⎞ෆ ̖́- It's a basic fried rice with egg, carrot, scallion, seaweed flakes, and gochujang (red chili paste).

They fried it up together with whatever leftover side dishes we had 😋 Adding kimchi, perilla leaves, and garlic made it even more, more, more delicious. I'm definitely someone who loves bold flavors.
I usually prefer thicker pork belly, but sometimes I crave the thin-sliced kind, and after not having it for a while, it really hit the spot ദി՞˶ෆ . ෆ˶ ՞ Recommending
