Daegu's Seomun Market was packed even on a weekday

I visited Daesin Peanut Bread inside Daegu's Seomun Market. First thing that surprised me — I figured a weekday visit would mean fewer people than the weekend, but there were SO many people, haha. It really hit me that Seomun Market is still as lively as ever.

While looking around the market, I walked in from the entrance for about 5 minutes and spotted the Daesin Peanut Bread sign — selling one of my favorite snacks!!

Daesin Peanut Bread is in front of Gate 11, North Gate, No. 2 General Market Building, Seomun Market.

If you just search the address, you'll end up at the peanut bread office(?) instead of the actual stall. So head for Gate 11, North Gate, No. 2 District of Seomun Market instead! Just walk about 3–5 minutes straight in from the market entrance and you'll find it.

Daesin Peanut Bread, the snack to eat at Seomun Market

So many customers at Daesin Peanut Bread..!! When you see a place this busy, you kind of get that trust-and-anticipation feeling even before you buy anything, you know what I mean? haha

I saw autographs from Hibab (a Korean mukbang creator) stuck up here and there — so this really must be a famous spot..!

When I arrived and checked the menu, it wasn't just peanut bread. The lineup was more varied than I expected.

• Peanut bread: 20 pcs ₩3,000 / 45 pcs ₩6,000 / 80 pcs ₩10,000
• Egg bread: 1 pc ₩2,000 / 3 pcs ₩5,500 / 7 pcs ₩12,000
• 100% peanut butter: Creamy 400g ₩10,000 / Crunchy 400g ₩12,000
• Peanut latte: Slush cup ₩2,500 / 500ml can ₩4,000

They said anything from 80 pieces of peanut bread up comes packed in a gift box. Watching the people ahead of me in line, quite a few got the box packaging too — seems like a lot of people buy it as a gift!

The signature item is still the peanut bread, but they also sell egg bread, peanut latte, peanut butter, and roasted peanuts.

I ordered 45 peanut breads, 2 egg breads, and a peanut latte. You can watch them cook right in front of you, so I took some photos, haha.

The smell of freshly baked, warm, nutty peanut bread was seriously incredible.. ㅠ

The peanut latte also surprised me with how much you get — they filled a takeout coffee cup right to the top with it.

Peanut bread I kept reaching for on the way home

They packed everything up neatly and I headed home, but the smell was so good.. I couldn't resist. I don't normally eat while walking, but that day I kept pulling out one peanut bread.. then another.. the whole walk home, haha.

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and loaded with big chunks of peanut for a great bite. I completely understood why Daesin Peanut Bread is such a famous Seomun Market snack.

And the thing that stuck with me most, unexpectedly, was the peanut latte! I was expecting something with just a faint hint of peanut, but the flavor and aroma were really intense. Anyone who loves peanuts is going to love this!

Fluffy, soft egg bread (gyeranppang)

I got curious on the way home and pulled out an egg bread too, haha. Fluffy soft bread with a nicely cooked egg inside — it felt like a plain but filling snack!

Is Daesin Peanut Bread worth the queue?

Even after snacking on quite a bit on the way home, plenty of peanut bread was still left. The included instructions have tips for keeping it crisp and warm when eating at home, so that's worth checking. This time my fiancé and I just finished it all off right away, but next time I want to try it as iced peanut bread the way the instructions suggest, haha.
