I found a spot worth visiting if you're a taco lover. It's a traditional Mexican taco restaurant where you can enjoy aged meat, fresh seafood, vegetables, and homemade salsa made from natural ingredients, all in one dish. The atmosphere is exotic and there are outdoor tables too, so it looked like a great date spot on a nice-weather day! Let me introduce Chilango, a taco restaurant in Daechi-dong.

What is Chilango, the Mexican taco spot near Daechi-dong?
Chilango is a Mexican restaurant located in Daechi-dong.

From the moment I walked in, the vibe was totally different from a regular restaurant. The exotic interior made it feel like a brief trip abroad. The overall atmosphere is warm and comfortable, so it seemed great for chatting with friends over a meal or for a date with a partner.
Why Chilango's outdoor tables are best on a clear day
And here's the part I especially loved about Chilango: the outdoor tables.

On nice days, you can sit outside like this and eat tacos. On cool, pleasant days like these, eating Mexican food outdoors seemed like it would make for a really great atmosphere. Pairing tacos with a drink or beer really gives you that traveling-abroad feeling haha. Especially as an evening date spot, the mood seemed even better, so it would be perfect for anyone looking for a date restaurant in Daechi-dong!
Chilango menu and the two-person taco plate set

We ordered the two-person plate set that day. We chose beef and shrimp for the toppings, and it was nice being able to try both at once.

It looked really appetizing right from the visuals, and with fresh vegetables piled on top, it felt like you could have both taste and health covered.

The plump texture of the shrimp came together with the beef and the savory cheese, and it was much tastier than I expected. It's a generous portion for two, so if you want to share a variety of toppings between two people, this menu is worth ordering haha.

There were even instructions written up on how to enjoy the tacos better, so let's properly dig into these Mexican tacos! Adding sauces and ingredients to your own taste let us enjoy slightly different flavors even with the same taco.

Having a beer that pairs well with tacos was such a great stress reliever for an after-work dinner.
Is the salsa at Chilango really made in-house?

Sauce is another important part of a taco, right? I was even more excited to hear that Chilango's salsa is made with natural ingredients, no seasoning added. Tasting it, the sauce wasn't overly strong or spicy — it blended naturally with the ingredients and really brought out the flavor. It went well with both the meat and seafood, making it delicious.

The combination of meat, vegetables, and sauce together was really good, better than expected. What I liked most was that no single ingredient's flavor stood out too strongly — everything blended together in a clean, mild way. So even people who usually think Mexican food is a bit too intense might want to give this a try.
How the beef and shrimp tacos at Chilango taste
I also liked being able to enjoy a variety of ingredients all at once. With aged meat, fresh seafood, vegetables, and homemade salsa all packed into a single taco, there was a lot of fun in the eating experience.

The beef and shrimp I ordered each had different textures and flavors, so I'd recommend trying both together. Above all, rather than being covered in a strong seasoning flavor, you can really taste the ingredients themselves, so if you like clean, mild food like I do, Chilango's tacos should suit you well.
