What kind of café is Bakerist Brown?
Bakerist Brown is a bakery café in the alley between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station. It occupies an entire pretty red-brick building, and the huge floor-to-ceiling windows let in gorgeous light.

The building looks so pretty from outside that people take tons of photos not just inside but right in front of the entrance too!
The basement, 1st and 2nd floors have general seating with a white-toned, vintage mood, while the 3rd floor has large tables good for study groups — this is a big café that can seat a lot of people.
There's a huge variety of baked goods, plus all kinds of desserts and drinks, so there's plenty of choice. They also sell their own Bakerist Brown goods like mugs and t-shirts.
What we ordered at Bakerist Brown: 8 butter sands and salted cream coffee

To go with Bakerist Brown's signature butter sands, we ordered a hot Americano and the café's signature drink, the salted cream coffee.

The 8 butter sand names and their fillings
Eight gorgeous-looking sands plus coffee! Based on the first photo, the butter sand names go as follows, starting from the bottom left.
- Peanut Butter Wave – peanut & butter
- Cream Forest – matcha & cream cheese
- London Fog – Earl Grey & white chocolate
- Rich Ganache – chocolate & cream
- Golden Hour – caramel & white chocolate
- Black Grain – black sesame & cream
- Sweet Pumpkin Jack – sweet pumpkin & butter
- Raspberry Blossom – raspberry & white chocolate
You can kind of guess the flavor just from the color, but matching the cookie flavor to the filling once you actually taste it is half the fun.

How did the butter sands taste?
So, the moment of truth! The soft sand cookies paired with a variety of fillings made for a dessert that goes really well with coffee. First, the visuals are just so pretty, and unlike crumbly biscuit-type cookies that shower flakes everywhere, these are dense yet melt-in-your-mouth, so they're not a hassle to eat, and they look gift-worthy too. With the gift packaging available, these would make a great present or thank-you gift for anyone who loves butter sands!
The most memorable flavor was Peanut Butter Wave! You could really taste the rich, nutty peanut flavor, and it paired beautifully with the soft, rich butter. The salty, hearty sand went great with the coffee. And Cream Forest! Bitter matcha and smooth cream cheese were a perfect match — because it uses a cream cheese filling rather than the others, it felt relatively clean and refreshing.
Is the salted cream coffee worth ordering?
The signature salted cream coffee was less salty than typical salt coffees, with a good balance of sweet and salty. My one gripe with cream coffees in general is that the cream can drown out the coffee's aroma and flavor — but here, the cream doesn't overpower it.
Final verdict on Bakerist Brown
A café with great vibes and easy access from Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station! Spacious layout, generously spaced tables, and perfect natural light.
Bakerist Brown's signature dessert, the 8-flavor butter sand lineup, is fun to pick through depending on your mood, pairs well with coffee, and is hard to dislike. With such pretty gift packaging too, I'd strongly, strongly recommend it as a gift!
