Guro, Seoul izakaya for grilled fish and skewers: Robatayaki Sodam

A three-minute walk from Guro Digital Complex Station: an izakaya dinner date

This time, I went on a dinner date at Robatayaki Sodam near Guro Digital Complex Station!

It only takes a three-minute walk from Guro Digital Complex Station! Maybe because there are so many office workers around Guro Digital Complex, bars in the area tend to feel full of company dinners and large groups—but this place had quite a lot of couples, more than I expected.

The overall atmosphere was warm and cozy, and except for the bar seats, the tables were fairly well separated, which I liked.

Once inside, it had the feel of a Japanese izakaya, with menus and posters on the walls that were fun to look at, too.

The fish looks so good. I want sashimi, grilled fish, and fried fish right now...

From grilled fish to soup, a menu that was easy for two to choose from

The menu has lots of dishes that work as drinking snacks, from grilled fish and skewers to fried items and soups. There were plenty of options for two people to choose one dish each, too.

There is a wide selection of alcohol, too! There are more drink menus besides the ones in these photos.

A fried-egg side dish and reservation and review perks

They bring out a fried egg as a complimentary side dish, and since I really love fried eggs, I happily ate it as soon as it arrived~ Each table also has an outlet for charging. What thoughtful service♡

If you write a Naver review, you can have ice cream for dessert, so that is the best. If you reserve through Naver, they also give you karaage (Japanese fried chicken)!! I did not expect much since I thought of it as a little freebie, but it was tasty haha.

A 13-skewer assortment and crisp, moist grilled black cod

The assorted skewers come with 13 different kinds, while only the gingko nuts come as two! With so many types, we could pick according to our preferences, and all of the chicken skewers were especially delicious to me. The rice-cake bacon roll was good, too.

We ordered two dishes: grilled black cod for ₩29,000 and assorted skewers for ₩24,000. First of all, I loved that the skin was grilled crisp, while the flesh was moist and tender. The crisp outside and tender fish inside worked so well together texturally. I also liked that the food here was not heavily seasoned overall.

Separate restrooms and a smoking room, too

Beyond the food, the restaurant has separate restrooms for men and women, as well as a separate smoking room. And that blurred-out young man in the photo is handsome.

Having a beer with grilled black cod and skewers made for such a nice evening. If you are looking for somewhere to have dinner near Guro Digital Complex Station, or a date spot for drinks for two, this seems worth keeping in mind. Next time, I would like to try other grilled fish or soup dishes that I did not have this time.

Personally, drinking while watching people who had quit their jobs, worked hard, and were heading home made the evening feel even nicer.

• There are separate restrooms for men and women.
• There is a smoking room.
• Karaage is provided with a Naver reservation.
• Vanilla ice cream is provided for writing a Naver review.

What could have been better
