Hanam jjukkumi restaurant with a serving robot and 3pm seating
In short
Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch is a perilla oil jjukkumi (webfoot octopus) hot pot rice restaurant in Chungung-dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi. On a weekend visit at 3pm there was no break time, so the meal started right away, and a serving robot delivered the water and an extra salad. The ₩13,000 perilla oil jjukkumi hot pot rice set came with scorched rice tea plus free coffee and ice cream, and it was good enough to plan a second visit.

For weekend lunch we decided not to go far and just find something good near home. Turns out there was a place this good hiding right in our neighborhood! Big parking lot, a generous perilla oil jjukkumi hot pot rice set, coffee and ice cream after the meal — so many things I liked that I'm already planning a repeat visit!!

No break time at Jigueseo On Jjukkumi: why 3pm meals work
Jigueseo On Jjukkumi Hanam Main Branch is in Chungung-dong, Hanam. There's a large parking lot in front of the store, which was great for driving there. What I liked most, though, was that there's no break time. We visited a bit late, around 3pm, and were still able to eat, which was really nice. It's also close to Iseongsanseong Fortress and Gogol Fishing Pond, so it'd work well as a stop during a nearby outing.

Inside the Hanam restaurant: spacious seating and a photo zone
The store is spacious with an atmosphere comfortable enough for families, and there's a flower-path-like area and photo zone out front, nice to walk around before or after the meal.

The serving robot that brought water and an extra salad
Once we sat down, a serving robot brought us water. It was kind of fun watching the robot deliver the salad we ordered extra, so I took photos of it.

What comes in the ₩13,000 perilla oil jjukkumi hot pot rice set
What we ordered that day was the perilla oil jjukkumi hot pot rice set. Jjukkumi, hot pot rice, and side dishes all laid out together — just looking at it felt filling!! The jjukkumi was meatier and more generous than I expected, which I loved.
The spread also came with japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), jellyfish salad, and a side salad — quite a full table. Every single side dish was delicious too.

The pollack roe wasn't as salty as I expected and had a nutty flavor — good just on rice by itself, but eating it with the jjukkumi added a whole different taste.

How the mill-pressed perilla oil changes the jjukkumi
This place's signature is perilla oil jjukkumi, and apparently they use perilla oil pressed directly at a local mill. Adding that distinctive nutty perilla oil aroma to the jjukkumi gave it a totally different feel from jjukkumi that's just strongly seasoned.

They loaded plenty of jjukkumi into the hot pot rice, drizzled a round of perilla oil over it, and now it's time to mix it all up!! As the nutty perilla oil aroma rose and the jjukkumi mixed evenly through the rice, it made my mouth water just watching.

The seasoning wasn't spicy and had good savory depth, so it was really delicious. The heat level wasn't overwhelming, which made it perfect for mixing the jjukkumi and rice together.

Freshly cooked hot pot rice and scorched rice tea to finish
The jjukkumi alone is delicious, but having the hot pot rice alongside made the meal even more filling. After scooping out the rice, we poured water over the scorched rice left in the pot to make sungnyung (scorched rice tea). Starting with jjukkumi to whet the appetite and finishing with the savory sungnyung made the whole meal feel satisfying to the last bite.

If you're looking for hot pot rice in Hanam, a set like this one would be a welcome find. Compared to ordering jjukkumi alone, having it come with rice and side dishes made the meal feel much more complete. It's also a good fit if you're after a Hanam-style full Korean course meal — I think it'd work well for a meal with parents, too.
Free coffee and ice cream on the outdoor terrace
After finishing the food, there was coffee and ice cream ready for after the meal, so we got to have a warm cup of coffee with ice cream. On a nice-weather day, it'd be great to sit outside and rest a bit after eating. It felt different from restaurants where you eat and rush out — that extra bit of leisure made me like the place even more.

Is Jigueseo On Jjukkumi in Hanam worth a return visit?
Jigueseo On Jjukkumi felt less like a place you go just for jjukkumi and more like a full Korean meal enjoyed together with hot pot rice and side dishes. Above all, the jjukkumi was so meaty and generous that I think I'll keep thinking about it.

If you're looking for a good jjukkumi restaurant in Hanam, I'd recommend Jigueseo On Jjukkumi, where you can enjoy jjukkumi with added perilla oil aroma alongside hot pot rice. It'd also be a good option on a day when you want a full spread of rice and side dishes like a Hanam-style Korean course meal, or a day when you're craving something that pairs well with Hanam hot pot rice. Honestly, it was a bit of a shame realizing only now that such a good jjukkumi restaurant was near home this whole time. I think I'll come back to try other menu items next time.
