Changwon salad shop in Yangdeok-dong: oat protein box, Why Starve

In short

Why Starve Diet Changwon Metro Centum Branch is a salad and protein box shop in the Metro Centum building in Yangdeok-dong, Masanhoewon-gu, Changwon. At lunchtime the order was a beef oat protein box and a chicken oat protein box with oriental sauce, and with a 20-30 minute wait warning, a nearby Daiso filled the time until the boxes were ready. Diners pick the main, base and sauce themselves, and the shop registers 1 hour of parking in the building's basement lot, making Why Starve Diet a light but filling meal.

Why Starve Diet

Hi everyone :) Today I was looking for a takeout lunch that's not too heavy but still filling, so I visited Why Starve Diet Changwon Metro Centum Branch :)

Why Starve Diet Changwon Metro Centum Branch opening hours

Why Starve Diet Changwon Metro Centum Branch is open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM, so it works for lunch or dinner. These days I try to eat vegetables and protein together even for one meal, so I often look for salads or light meals. What I liked about Why Starve is that you can pick your own ingredients and build a combo to your taste.

Parking in Changwon: 1 hour registered in the Metro Centum basement lot

I drove there, and it was convenient that I could use the basement parking lot of the Metro Centum building. Parking can be a hassle when heading out for a meal, but being able to park right in the basement made access easy. And when I mentioned it to the staff, they registered 1 hour of parking for me, so I didn't have to worry about parking fees.

What is the shop like inside?

The Why Starve Diet Changwon Metro Centum Branch store overall had a clean, bright atmosphere. It didn't feel awkward to visit alone for a simple meal, and it also felt comfortable for the two of us to eat there together. Visiting at lunchtime, there were dine-in customers as well as steady takeout orders coming in like ours.

Building a protein box: choosing the main, base and sauce

At Why Starve you get to choose your own combination of main, base and sauce. It's not just vegetables even though it's called a salad — you can pick meat as the main and customize the base and sauce to your taste too, which I liked.

A 20-30 minute lunch wait and a Daiso run next door

My husband ordered the beef oat protein box and I ordered the chicken oat protein box. Since it was lunchtime, orders seemed backed up, and the staff let us know it might take about 20-30 minutes for the food to be ready. So instead of just sitting around waiting, we went to a nearby Daiso.

How the beef and chicken oat protein boxes taste

We came back from Daiso shopping and ta-da! Our salads were already packed and ready.

My husband's beef oat protein box With an oat base plus beef, eaten together with the vegetables it makes a filling combo for a full meal. With the oriental sauce added too, it was great eating the meat, vegetables and oats together. Some people think a salad will leave you hungry soon, but combining it with oats and meat like this makes for a surprisingly filling meal.

I chose the chicken oat oriental. Personally, I really liked how soft the chicken was. Chicken in salads can sometimes be dry, but this was surprisingly soft and moist, and it went well eaten together with the vegetables and oats. I generally prefer chicken over beef, so the chicken combo suited my taste better.

I also liked that the price was reasonable. Given how expensive eating out has gotten these days, even a salad meal can feel like a burden sometimes, but here I could get vegetables and protein together for a light meal without too much of a price burden.

How the boxes travel for picnics and baseball games

We got ours packed to go that day, and the packaging was neat, which I liked. Especially since the weather is gradually cooling down, I thought this would be great to bring along on a picnic. And Why Starve Diet Changwon Metro Centum Branch is also fairly close to the baseball stadium, so it'd be great to pack it ahead of time on a day you're heading out to watch a game. On a nice day, eating something simple outdoors has a nice atmosphere to it, and since the menu isn't heavy, it seems like it would suit a picnic or a baseball game outing well.

Overall, with clean ingredients and the ability to eat vegetables, protein and oats all together, Why Starve Diet Changwon Metro Centum Branch was a good place to visit on a day when I wanted to eat light but not feel like the meal was lacking.
