Shabu-shabu buffet in Nam-gu, Ulsan: Shabre Garden's variety

At some point, shabu-shabu buffets started popping up everywhere, right...? I visited a few, found one I was super happy with, and came to introduce it to you, hehe.

The prices are all pretty similar, so comparing the variety and quality matters—but this place has not only a huge selection, but loads of seriously tasty options too.

Shabre Garden Ulsan Nam-gu Branch: Basics

• Open: Monday–Sunday
• Closed: No regular closing days
• Hours: 11:00–21:00 (last order at 20:20)
• Break time: 15:00–17:00
• Parking: Commercial parking lot in front of the building available

Shabre Garden (샤브르정원) offers parking support if you use the parking tower behind the building or the Suam Hoe Center parking lot, and the Suam Market public parking lot is right next door, so it is easy to visit. Ah, but public-parking fees are not supported!

In this busy Ya-eum-dong and Suam-dong area, a restaurant with such solid parking is totally precious, haha. I came without really knowing the parking situation, then found out it was ridiculously large-scale.

A Huge Interior That Felt Like a Playground

Wow, wait... is this a playground? Hahaha. Shabu-shabu buffets are generally like this, of course, but the tables really just went on and on.

We arrived right when it opened at 11, so it was a little quiet, and I am glad I took photos beforehand, hahaha. By around 11:30—nearly noon—all these seats were full, hahaha.

Shabre Garden has partitions here and there, so the space is nicely divided up. It seems like it would be great for group meals and gatherings too, right?

Admission Categories and Menu

Okay then, you do not even need to study the menu: it is simply weekday or weekend, and young child, child, or adult. Super simple, haha. We went with 2 adults (weekend/public holiday) 😗

From Shabu-shabu to Sushi and Desserts

All right, all right—let the all-important food parade begin.

Shabre Garden is complete with fresh vegetables, all kinds of cooked dishes, sushi, and desserts.

Where else could you eat so many fresh, varied vegetables like a rabbit?

Ah, I really wish I had two stomachs... Looking at this while writing the post, I so regret not being able to eat more...

Chicken, tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), bulgogi... oh, my mouth is tired just listing it all. Ah, those cheese balls were seriously delicious, drool.

And of course, both beef belly and beef chuck are unlimited refill too ^^

And the sushi here is pretty good too, haha. At some point I forgot this was a shabu-shabu place... People were even making fresh waffles and chocolate fondue, but I could not get to any of it, hahaha. Ah, I need to go back!!!

A Full Spread of Split-Broth Shabu-shabu

Let me get myself together and focus on the shabu-shabu. We went with split broth.

This is me holding back, hahaha.

It was delicious even when I just scooped things out and ate them.

It was delicious wrapped in Vietnamese rice paper too, and the spicy broth was not overly intense, so it was nice!

It may look like a restaurant just for huge eaters, but once I tried it, the quality was good enough that even someone who eats smaller amounts of lots of different things could have a satisfying meal here, right?

It made me think of my family... I spent the whole meal thinking about who I should bring here that eats well, haha.
