Seomyeon Station bar with a side-dish-sized review bingsu: Yuumangju
In short
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a newly opened Korean bar on the second floor of a building a 2-minute walk from Seomyeon Station in Busanjin, Busan. The visit covered kimchi dakdoritang (chicken and kimchi hot pot), pork skin chive pancake and the free garlic bread starter, plus the bingsu (shaved ice dessert) handed out for a review event, which arrived in a portion large enough to count as a side menu item. Between the generous, distinctive anju (drinking snacks) and the black-toned interior, Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch works well as a first-round bar near Seomyeon Station.

Hi, this is Jinu 😀 Today I'm introducing Yuumangju, a newly opened bar in Seomyeon, Busan, where even the side dishes were as special as the mains.
Hours: Sun–Thu 17:00–3:00 / Fri–Sat 17:00–4:00 (open daily) Location: 31 Dongcheon-ro 85beon-gil, Busanjin-gu, Busan, South Korea, 2nd floor
Where Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is and what the 2nd floor looks like
Yuumangju Seomyeon is a new bar just a 2-minute walk from Seomyeon Station (Lines 1 and 2), and the sign at the entrance alone made me sense this was going to be an anju hotspot. Head up to the 2nd floor and mirrors perfect for photos greet you 🙂

The interior overall has a quite upscale feel with black tones and lighting, tables spaced out comfortably, and group seating available in the back. When we first walked in, this was about how empty it was —

But later, while we were eating, I looked around and the place had filled up with customers 👀 Even as a new bar, it was clearly a hot spot with a young crowd.

What we ordered: kimchi dakdoritang and pork skin chive pancake
Yuumangju has enough signature dishes that it was hard to pick, from mains to sides, all with distinctive menus. We went with kimchi dakdoritang (kimchi chicken hot pot) and pork skin chive pancake!

The basic anju that comes out is sweet garlic bread — it curbed our hunger and, being on the sweeter side, made us even happier being here for a first round.

What comes in the kimchi dakdoritang, and how it tastes
After the wait, the kimchi dakdoritang arrived. It was packed with boneless chicken you could see at a glance, plus daechang (beef intestines), aged kimchi, and egg garnish, and as it simmered the aged kimchi aroma rose up and really got the mouth watering. It was also convenient that you only needed to warm it slightly before eating!

How the pork skin chive pancake looks on the plate
Next came the pork skin chive pancake. The second I saw the menu name, I was curious how two already-delicious dishes would work together — plump pork skin and mayo sauce were piled on top of the chive pancake, and honestly, it looked hard not to be delicious.

A delicious-looking duo shot 😃 The dakdoritang was warmed just right too, so we tried both, one bite at a time.
How the food tasted overall
First, cutting up the kimchi inside the dakdoritang into bite-size pieces to eat. Visually it looked a bit like aged kimchi, but it tasted more like properly ripened kimchi rather than fully aged — the kind that's universally likable wrapped around daechang or chicken.
But what surprised me more than expected was how plump the boneless chicken and daechang were, which really matter most here. On top of that, the chicken was tender and the daechang chewy, with the seasoning soaked in just right — satisfying in taste too.

It paired especially well with the egg garnish and kimchi served alongside, which made it even more enjoyable. Great with a drink, and filling enough to be a solid choice for a first round.
The pork skin chive pancake cut cleanly on the sides without pork skin — that's how moist the pancake was 🙂
The pork skin itself was pretty plump too — not hard at all, incredibly chewy, and even nutty, so it was delicious even eaten on its own.

How much bingsu does the review event actually give you?
Taking a bite of the chive pancake and pork skin together gives you a special flavor that's hard to describe. I was already pretty full, but since a bingsu comes with the review event, I asked for it right away.

But the moment it arrived, I was shocked by how it looked... I expected a small portion since it was a review event, but the quantity and quality were good enough to pass as a proper side menu item 👍 Ice cream, Chex cereal, chocolate chips, and even cookies — how could I resist this even when full 🤤

With all those toppings and ice, it's hard for the combination not to be delicious. It was the perfect sweet finish after the anju we'd had, and finishing off cool and clean made it even more satisfying. I couldn't fit it in a photo, but there was still a waiting line on the entrance chairs when we left — Yuumangju, the new Seomyeon bar with distinctive, generous menus and a sleek atmosphere. I'd especially recommend it as a bar near Seomyeon Station.
