Chicken soup restaurant in Yangsan for a 3pm baby lunch: Eonyang Dak

In short

Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch is a chicken noodle soup restaurant in Habuk-myeon, Yangsan, a short drive from Tongdosa Temple. After a walk through the buckwheat fields, the writer arrived past 3pm and ordered salt-free dakgomtang (clear chicken soup) for 10,000 won to share with her baby, adding an extra half chicken for 4,000 won, while her husband had perilla chicken kalguksu with a whole half chicken for 10,000 won. With unsalted broth on request plus high chairs and baby dishes, Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch is an easy choice for families eating out with young children.

Exterior of Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch

The Tongdosa buckwheat fields are having a moment right now, so I wanted to share a good place to eat on the way back ✨ My husband used to commute near here and often ate at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch. The exterior and interior are pretty enough to catch your eye 👁️👁️

Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch hours and parking

Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch is open 11:00–21:00 and closed every Wednesday. After our family outing worked up an appetite, we headed in. Parking is easy here, which is a plus.

Why arriving after 3pm works best

The restaurant is really spacious with big tables, comfortable for eating. My husband used to come here often with coworkers and says weekday lunches get packed. I was so relieved to go past 3pm — with a baby, avoiding peak hours makes everything easier 🥹... (thank you to the young guy at the table behind us who was so sweet to our baby...)

Here's an ordering tip: Eonyang Dak's broth normally comes well-seasoned, but if you have health concerns or a baby like me, you can ask for the broth without salt. My husband ordered the chicken kalguksu with half a chicken for ₩10,000, and I ordered the dakgomtang without salt to share with the baby for ₩10,000, plus an extra half chicken for ₩4,000.

The signature spicy kimchi, in two styles

Then there's Eonyang Dak's signature spicy kimchi. My husband can't handle spicy food so he took the milder kimchi, which was still plenty tangy and spicy — I loved both.

The smaller portion on the right is the spicy kimchi, and the aftertaste is really hot. But it pairs perfectly with the noodles.

Perilla chicken kalguksu with a whole half chicken

This is my husband's kalguksu (noodle soup). A well-cooked, pale half chicken sits whole in the bowl, and the perilla aroma here is amazing. I really love perilla, so if it weren't for the baby I'd just be eating this seasoned version myself. The noodles are boiled just right, soft and soaked with broth — with the kimchi, it's really filling and delicious.

How was the unsalted clear dakgomtang?

Mine was the dakgomtang with clear, unsalted broth. The young chicken looked beautiful. Adding the extra chicken to share with the baby was such a good call. The broth is really clean-tasting — anyone who dislikes greasy soups would especially like this.

High chairs and baby dishes for young kids

They gave us a baby chair and baby dishes, so we could eat comfortably after our outing. When I cut up the chicken from the dakgomtang for the baby, she ate it so happily and loudly (she tends to shriek when food is good).

I tried my husband's chicken kalguksu too — yep, that's the taste. It's a chain, so I've had it in Busan before too, but somehow the Tongdosa branch tastes even better. Why is that?

Lifting up the kalguksu noodles

The chicken is so tender the bone and meat separate easily, and my husband said he liked how clear the unsalted dakgomtang was too. Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Tongdosa Branch's dakgomtang would also make a great hangover soup.

Worth a meal after a Tongdosa Temple outing

It was really, really delicious. I keep thinking about that kimchi. I do wish I could've just slurped down noodles freely without a baby to manage — that part was a bit of a bummer at this Tongdosa favorite. But if you're looking for kalguksu near Tongdosa, I highly recommend it.

Good prices, tasty, filling, and nutritious — the kind of place you could visit often. It's really great to bring kids too, so be sure to stop by after your Tongdosa outing.
