I recently had a meal out with my parents and spent a while wondering where to go. I wanted somewhere with a nice atmosphere and decent food. While searching for good places in Dadaepo, I found Hwarou Dadaepo (화로우 다대포점), a beef BBQ place with an ocean view. If you're looking for somewhere in Busan where you can eat while looking at the sea, I think you'll be really happy here, so here's my write-up. My parents loved it.
Where is Hwarou Dadaepo, and what are the hours?
Hwarou Dadaepo is on the 7th floor of a building at 58 Dasong-ro 84beon-gil, Saha-gu, Busan. It's open 16:00–23:00, and on weekends 12:00–23:00. It's near Natgae Station, and it's apparently already pretty famous as a good spot in the area.

It's widely known as an ocean-view place in Dadaepo, so my expectations were high 🌊🌊💙💙

It's on the 7th floor, and it's been a while since I took an elevator up to a BBQ restaurant, so I was excited from the ride up >.<
Sea view and atmosphere at Hwarou Dadaepo

The first thing you see when you walk in is, of course, the wide-open view of the sea at Dadaepo. The blue water by the windows was so pretty. It was lovely even though we went during the day, and I found myself thinking I'd like to come back around sunset!!
The place is very spacious and comfortable overall. The tables are spaced far apart so it never felt stuffy, and it looked good for group gatherings too. Lots of the window tables were already reserved, haha.
The self-serve bar was also kept clean and tidy, which gave me the sense that the whole restaurant is well looked after.
Hwarou Dadaepo menu and prices: what we ordered
On the menu, the set meals caught my eye first: the Hwarou Set, a pork belly set, and a handmade marinated raw galbi set. A friend had told me the Hwarou Set was great, so we ordered that. Sets make it easy to order without agonizing, and you can order right at your table.

Hwarou Set A: how was the beef?

There were side dishes that go well with beef, plus whole-grain mustard, wasabi, salt and sauces, so you can enjoy the meat in lots of different ways.

When the Hwarou Set A I'd ordered came out, I was excited the second I saw it!!!!

Hwarou Set A comes on a big wooden plate piled generously with three cuts: galbi-sal (rib meat), toshi-sal (skirt-area cut) and salchi-sal (chuck flap). The color was a vivid pinkish red with a decent amount of marbling, so it looked fresh right away. And the names of the cuts were written right there so you could tell them apart, which I loved haha.
One look and you can tell the meat looks really good~~~ What I especially liked is that it isn't sliced thin. It's cut big and thick.

At a BBQ place I always judge the meat by how it looks first, and at Hwarou Dadaepo even my dad pulled out his camera the moment it arrived. King oyster mushrooms came alongside and were laid on top too, which made it look even more appetizing >.<
First, toshi-sal: the most beefy flavor
I put the thick toshi-sal on first. The sizzle on the charcoal and the smell were so good 😍 Of the three cuts, toshi-sal had the strongest beef flavor! You really taste that deep, rich beefiness, and I think meat lovers will especially like it.

As always, dipping beef in salt is the cleanest and tastiest way. I ate the pickled chili and wasabi in between, and they cut through the richness so I could keep going~
Next, galbi-sal: juicy and chewy
The galbi-sal was juicy and chewy without being tough, and the texture was so, so good. The more you chew, the more savory juices come out, and it went great with rice. Personally it was the cut I could keep reaching for without ever feeling full.

It's tasty dipped in cheese like this too. The cheese stretches out so nicely. The golden-grilled mushrooms dipped in salt were also so good, with the mushroom juice bursting out.
Finishing with my beloved salchi-sal
As you'd expect from my favorite cut, I was very satisfied~~~~~ Hwarou Dadaepo gives you quite thick pieces of salchi-sal.

It was chewy yet you could clearly taste that savory flavor it's known for, and I really enjoyed it. They also changed the grill plate midway. I hadn't even asked!!! 😍😍 Such thoughtful service.

You can definitely feel that the quality of the meat itself is good here. It felt like the focus was on the natural flavor of the beef with no marinade, which I think is why my parents ate so well too.

Hwarou Dadaepo mul naengmyeon: a good way to finish?
My mom and dad, who hadn't had rice, ordered mul naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth) to finish! It looked so refreshing, haha.

I had a bite too, and the noodles were nice and chewy and the broth was really refreshing ❤️❤️ It felt like the perfect way to wrap up~~~ My mom especially kept saying how good the naengmyeon was. Dad ate his together with the meat, and I bet it's delicious that way too.
Is Hwarou Dadaepo good for taking parents?
If you're looking for a good place in Busan to take your parents for a meal, I'd recommend Hwarou Dadaepo! Being able to eat while looking at the sea at Dadaepo was the biggest plus. It's not just atmosphere, either. The meat quality was good, and the spacious, comfortable room made for a relaxed meal, haha.
I think it'd also work for a family meal on a special day, a date, or a group gathering. It's an ocean-view spot in Dadaepo that I'd love to revisit around dinnertime ❤️💙🌊
