Summer eel buffet with cold buckwheat noodles in Busan: Songnim Bok
In short
Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, Busan Dongnae Branch is an all-you-can-eat grill house in Anrak-dong, Dongnae-gu, Busan, where fresh freshwater eel, pork belly and duck neck meat are 29,900 won per adult. On a scorching summer afternoon, two of us arrived just after the lunch rush, grilled all three meats in turn and cooled off with buckwheat mul-makguksu (chilled noodles in cold broth). The eel was crisp outside and moist inside with no fishy taste, and the one drawback is that Songnim Bok Jangeo has no parking.

This is Silverline, worn out by the weather these days. It's been so hot lately that I've lost my appetite and my energy keeps dropping, so I went looking for a place to recharge — and today I'm sharing that visit. It's Songnim Bok Jangeo Unlimited Freshwater Eel, Busan Dongnae Branch, known as an Anrak-dong favorite.
Why an unlimited eel buffet in Anrak-dong makes sense in midsummer

Being summer, I had no energy and kept thinking about eel.
While looking for Dongnae-gu spots where you can eat unlimited freshwater eel, I found this place. It's said to be pretty famous among Busan locals too, so I went in with high expectations.
Inside Songnim Bok Jangeo's Dongnae branch: mood and seating
The Dongnae branch was spacious and clean overall, with generous spacing between tables so I could eat comfortably. Since I visited just past lunchtime, there weren't many people.
Being summer, it seems everyone avoids restaurants that use open flame. We also asked them to take the fire away as soon as we finished grilling, haha.
Fresh freshwater eel trimmed daily: what the owner explained
The owner said they started the unlimited buffet so more people could enjoy grilled eel affordably even in a tough economy. Every morning, they personally prep live eel brought in daily from eel farms and wholesale markets.
So unlike other buffet places that thaw frozen eel, they only use freshly caught eel each day.
Alongside the freshwater eel, they also serve premium pork belly and chewy duck neck meat.

The eel soup in particular is simmered by boiling whole eel and grinding it in, so the flavor is extremely rich, they said. Try it once and you might not be able to eat eel soup from anywhere else, apparently.

What two people ordered, and what's on the self-bar
We ordered: two adult buffets, table setting for two, and buckwheat mul-makguksu.

Once seated, a plate of freshwater eel, duck neck meat, and pork arrived first. Anything else needed came from the self-bar.
How the eel, duck neck meat and pork belly tasted

We grilled and ate the freshwater eel, duck neck meat, and pork in rotation.
Each one had a different texture, so I never got tired of it and kept eating.
The side dishes matched the meats well too, so the meal felt clean and balanced.

Pairing the grill with cold buckwheat makguksu
Noodles go especially well with grilled meat, so I ordered the cold mul-makguksu too,

and the chilled noodles went really well with the chewy duck neck meat and the savory eel.
For the eel, you grill it skin-side first until golden, then cut it into bite-sized pieces,

and it was crisp outside, moist inside, with no fishy taste at all — very clean eating.
Best spots for photos at Songnim Bok Jangeo
The interior itself isn't a flashy concept, but the eel sizzling over charcoal turned out to be a surprisingly good photo zone.
Snapping shots of the eel and meat as they browned made for decent food-gram material.
The first plate, with eel, duck neck meat, and pork all served together, was also worth a photo for the visual alone.
Season by season: when to visit

They said this is especially popular in summer as an energy-boosting menu. It felt like filling up a body worn down by the heat with eel.
Since it's grilled over charcoal, I imagine it has a different kind of appeal in winter too — good for warming up the body.

I thought this is a good place to visit for restorative food no matter the season.

Where to go in Anrak-dong after the meal

After the meal, it's nice to take a walk around nearby cafés or a park to unwind. A good, light walking route after a heavy meat meal.

If you're using it as a Dongnae-gu company dinner spot, it's also convenient for a second round nearby afterward.
Final verdict on Songnim Bok Jangeo Dongnae

Since you can eat pork belly and duck neck meat along with the freshwater eel, it seems to suit a wide range of tastes. It would work well as a Dongnae-gu company dinner spot or for a family meal out, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an unlimited eel buffet in Anrak-dong.
If you're looking for a great freshwater eel restaurant or a local Busan favorite, this is worth a visit. Next time, I want to try the eel soup too.
