The restaurant's exterior and interior

Arriving at the building, the orange Darijip Jaecheopguk sign catches your eye first. The modest, friendly exterior gives off that comfortable feeling unique to old neighborhood restaurants.

It was a space where the warmth of many years in the same spot blended naturally with a newly refreshed cleanliness.

Inside, the tables have relatively generous spacing, and there's plenty of seating set up for larger groups too.

Rather than flashy, it's a neat, bright atmosphere that suited enjoying a warm bowl of soup well.

Off to one side there's a self-serve coffee corner too, handy to use before or after the meal.
What we ordered and the side dishes served
Today's order was the rich clam soup (재첩진국) at ₩16,000.

Cups, a utensil holder, tissues, wet wipes, pepper, and gochujang (red chili paste) were all neatly arranged on the table, easy to use throughout the meal.

Starting slowly with sungnyung (roasted rice tea) put me in a soft, unhurried mood.
How does the rich clam soup taste?

The rich clam soup came out with a neat array of side dishes. From vegetable banchan to kimchi and braised items, everything paired well alternating with the soup, and the fully loaded table looked tidy yet plentiful.

It's described as having a richer broth than regular clam soup, loaded with extra clam meat. Seeing the clear broth with clam meat and chives together felt warm and comforting just to look at.

Scooping up the rich clam soup with a spoon, tiny clam meat came up along with the broth, letting me see the dish's character firsthand. Tasting it, the broth felt warm and clean, with the distinctive clam flavor coming through subtly.
Adding rice makes the meal even more filling, and it's a great option for anyone who enjoys a calm, broth-based dish.

There's also fun in mixing the seasoned vegetables (namul) with rice or adding the accompanying side dishes, which kept me slowly exploring the whole spread throughout the meal.

Pouring the warm rich clam soup generously over the mixed rice brought the bibimbap (mixed rice) to life.

A bowl of clam soup and an array of side dishes came together harmoniously, making this a comfortable dining choice for families or travelers looking for restaurants near Haeundae Arboretum.

Would I go back to Darijip Jaecheopguk?
This was a place that carried both the story of 30 years welcoming customers in the same spot and a fresh start as a freshwater clam soup specialist. Generous seating, a comfortable atmosphere, warm clam-meat broth, and a neat full spread — nothing flashy, but a meal that quietly stuck with me. If you're near Geumsa Station looking for warm soup or restaurants near Haeundae Arboretum, a calm meal at Darijip Jaecheopguk is worth trying.
