Busan octopus bar moved from Haeundae to Suyeong: Dari Yeodeolgae
In short
Dari Yeodeolgae (다리여덟개) is an octopus bar two minutes from Suyeong Station in Busan, run for 20 years in Haeundae before moving to Suyeong. After booking ahead, the writer sat at the counter and ordered a small boiled octopus (40,000 won), a seafood add-on (12,000 won), octopus fried rice and hangover ramyeon, and was impressed from the first complimentary side dishes and clam soup. The verdict: Dari Yeodeolgae serves the best octopus of the writer's life, with a 1000% intent to return.

Today I visited a real hidden gem near Suyeong Station, Dari Yeodeolgae. I tried boiled octopus on a whole other level along with super fresh seafood — the kind of insane flavor that makes you feel like you can never go anywhere else once you've had it at Dari Yeodeolgae.

The vibe was great too, perfect for a drink, so let's get right into the honest review.
Where is Dari Yeodeolgae and what are the hours?
Dari Yeodeolgae is at 85 Muhak-ro 21beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, South Korea, 2nd floor, just 2 minutes from Suyeong Station. It's open daily from 15:30 to 23:00, with last order at 22:00.

If you're looking for a great spot near Suyeong Station, head straight to Dari Yeodeolgae.
The vibe and seating inside Dari Yeodeolgae
Dari Yeodeolgae is a dining bar with a dark, cozy atmosphere and tables for 2, 4, and even 6. An octopus greets you the moment you walk in.

It really was the perfect mood for drinking. Dark, comfortable, and full of character! Push the tables together and you could seat up to 12, so feel free to visit with a group.
Since I made a reservation, a booth seat was already prepared for me. There are lots of octopuses decorating the inside — they're adorable, and I'm a big fan of octopus characters myself.
Dari Yeodeolgae's signature dishes and what I ordered

Dari Yeodeolgae's signature dishes are boiled octopus sukhoe, spicy octopus jangyuk, and whole stir-fried octopus. The shop originally ran for 20 years in Haeundae before moving to Suyeong — actually, when they were still in Haeundae, it was my parents' favorite regular spot!
Beyond octopus dishes, there's a wide range of options to choose from. Here's what I ordered.
- Boiled octopus sukhoe (small) ₩40,000
- Seafood add-on ₩12,000
- Octopus fried rice (1 serving) ₩8,000
- Hangover ramyeon (1 serving) ₩8,000
How are the basic side dishes and clam soup at Dari Yeodeolgae?

Dari Yeodeolgae serves freshly grilled dried filefish, quail egg konjac braise, and stir-fried fish cake as basic side dishes, along with clam soup. I was genuinely moved starting from these basic sides.

It's not just a token gesture — every single side dish is actually delicious. You could tell real care and effort went into them from the very first bite. The dried filefish is served freshly grilled, hot and crispy and so good, and the quail egg konjac braise is amazing too.

The stir-fried fish cake is savory and really good too. Just eating the side dishes alone made me think 'this place knows what it's doing.'
The clam soup that comes as a default is also very deep-flavored, with a clean and refreshing broth.

The clams were plump, and the clam soup was definitely going to be a drink-stealer.

How does the boiled octopus sukhoe (small, ₩40,000) taste?
The boiled octopus sukhoe (small) is ₩40,000, and they boil a whole octopus right after you order and slice it up. Since it's boiled whole, everything is included except the eyes and teeth.

Apparently sukhoe means it's cut following the shape of the legs. It's sliced so neatly. Seeing the octopus laid out by part made it feel like eating a really upscale dish, and the knife skills were excellent — sliced so thin.

Because it's sliced this thin, it's not chewy at all, and it was boiled just the right amount so it's tender with just a hint of bite — the balance was perfect.
I've eaten a lot of octopus in my life, but I can honestly say Dari Yeodeolgae's octopus is the best octopus of my life.

You could really taste the skill of an owner who has been making octopus dishes for over 20 years. It has a bit of bite but is never chewy — it goes down smooth and tender, just perfect.
You dip it in chojang (vinegar-chili sauce) and gireumjang (sesame oil salt sauce). I even indulged in eating three pieces in one bite.
There's also octopus ink and roe. They're savory and rich — delicious.

What comes in the seafood add-on (₩12,000) when you order octopus?
When you order octopus at Dari Yeodeolgae, you can add sea cucumber, sea squirt, and abalone for ₩12,000. The price seemed reasonable so I tried it — great mix, great portion.

It's a side that makes the drinks go down smoothly. Since Dari Yeodeolgae opens at 15:30, it's also perfect for day drinking. I went a bit after 5pm and there were quite a lot of customers already.

The seafood was all incredibly fresh too. The sea squirt was plump and quite large.

Sea cucumber, abalone, sea squirt — all in top condition! I've always loved sea cucumber, and this one was crunchy and fresh and so tasty.
The abalone comes with its innards too. Abalone innards are of course delicious.

Dessert course: octopus fried rice (1 serving, ₩8,000)
Dari Yeodeolgae's octopus fried rice is ₩8,000 per serving — it's cheese kimchi fried rice with kimchi, cheese, and octopus mixed in. I ordered it as dessert, and this octopus fried rice is genuinely so good.

It's the kind of addictive delicious that makes you want to keep scooping it up. The finely chopped octopus adds a fun texture. I really regretted only ordering one serving.

Best dessert ever. As they say, you can tell the whole from one part — I'm confident every dish at Dari Yeodeolgae is delicious.

Finishing off with hangover ramyeon (1 serving, ₩8,000)
Dari Yeodeolgae's hangover ramyeon is ₩8,000 per serving, loaded generously with bean sprouts and filled with blue crab and shrimp. I ordered it to finish the meal.
The noodles were nice and firm, exactly my style. The broth, packed with seafood and bean sprouts, was truly rich and deep. There's a reason it's called hangover ramyeon.
They also serve kimchi that pairs perfectly with the ramyeon. It's sour and tangy, exactly the right kind of kimchi for ramyeon, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Is Dari Yeodeolgae near Suyeong Station worth going back to?
Every single dish I ordered at Dari Yeodeolgae was delicious. The boiled octopus sukhoe especially is on a completely different level from octopus anywhere else, so I definitely recommend coming to try it. On top of that, the inside atmosphere is perfect for drinking.
I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a spot to day-drink near Suyeong Station, and to anyone looking for a great restaurant or bar near Suyeong Station in general. Intent to return: 1000%!
