Haeundae Dalmaji-gil brunch: pastry soup and deep green hall, Bueokgan

In short

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a European restaurant on the second floor of a building on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. The writer ordered pastry soup (₩10,000), shrimp rosé pasta (₩20,000) and basil margherita pizza (₩19,000), cracking the pastry lid to spoon up the sweet pumpkin soup below, and found the deep green hall to the right of the entrance and the sun-filled hall to the left strikingly different in mood. With a parking lot, baby chairs and a luggage rack, Bueokgan Haeundae Branch works well for a Dalmaji-gil date or a first meet-up.

An atmospheric vibe plus delicious food — that's basically love 🤍 I went to Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, my pick for a Dalmaji-gil date brunch spot :)

Finding Bueokgan Haeundae Branch on Dalmaji-gil, and where to park

Turns out the whole building belongs to Bueokgan. 1st floor: Cafe de Bueok (café) / Bueokgan Chinese (Chinese restaurant), 2nd floor: Bueokgan (European restaurant).

There's a parking lot in the building too, so I could park easily and head straight in.

Two halls, two moods: deep green on the right, sunlight on the left

Inside Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, the space splits by the entrance — deep green tones on the right, a bright space full of natural light on the left. The exterior already looked clean and polished, so I was curious about the interior, and the moment I stepped in, I gasped — so luxurious and pretty.

The mood on the left and right of the entrance is completely different. I love places like this haha

Deep green European-style seating area

The right side is all in deep green tones, giving off the feel of a European restaurant. So classic and vintage, right?

And on the left of the entrance, sunlight streams in beautifully, bright and warm and full of atmosphere.

Same place, such different vibes — every seat is full of mood.

Coming to a place this pretty just makes me so happy. The space was spacious and clean too, which made it even better. The staff were so kind — I felt good the whole time I was there.

There was a baby chair for guests visiting with little ones, plus a rack for storing bags and luggage.

The little decor pieces were so pretty too — this place would be great for a date, and I'd also recommend it for a blind date or a club gathering.

The restroom is inside too, so it's easy to use comfortably. Ingredient origins were noted in detail, and the tableware on each table was set neatly.

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch has set menus, plus appetizers, salads, pasta, risotto, pizza, steak, beer, and wine — so many options it's fun just picking haha

  • Pastry soup ₩10,000
  • Shrimp rosé pasta ₩20,000
  • Basil margherita pizza ₩19,000
  • Zero-sugar cola ₩2,500

Here's what we ordered.

Our drinks came out first. They poured it right into a glass packed with ice. Even the cup was pretty, honestly.

The pastry soup and shrimp rosé pasta came out first, so I snapped a shot.

Pastry soup, ₩10,000: the sweet pumpkin soup hidden under the crust

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch's signature pastry soup is ₩10,000 — you press down and break the pastry to reveal a bright yellow pumpkin soup underneath. I'm a huge fan of en croûte soups. How could I not order this.

So appetizing to look at. Pressing the pastry down with a spoon reveals the vivid yellow pumpkin soup.

The color alone feels almost unfair. I'm not usually a big pumpkin fan, but the pastry soup at this Haeundae brunch spot has become my all-time favorite soup.

A spoonful of the pumpkin soup

I had no idea pumpkin could taste this good — nutty, sweet, everything at once. Eating it together with the pastry brought out a light, clean flavor too, which I loved even more. If you visit Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, definitely order the pastry soup!

Shrimp rosé pasta, ₩20,000: shrimp and button mushrooms

A plate of shrimp rosé pasta

Next up, shrimp rosé pasta. I'm a shrimp lover, so if there's a shrimp dish on the menu, I'm ordering it, no question haha

Plump shrimp and mushrooms together in one dish.

Since it's rosé, it was less rich than a regular cream sauce, which I liked. I love mushrooms too, and eating them together with the shrimp made it even better. This place really is a Western-food spot worth trusting — somehow every single dish is good.

Basil margherita pizza, ₩19,000

Last up, basil margherita pizza. You have to get pizza at a brunch spot, right haha Can you see how stretchy the cheese is?

The crust was so clean and light with zero greasiness, and the arugula on top added a fresh, crisp finish.

If you're looking for a Western restaurant with great atmosphere, come check out Bueokgan Haeundae Branch, my pick for a Dalmaji-gil date brunch spot :)
