In short

Where is Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch?
I stopped by Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch, a well-known brunch café in Gwangalli. It's an Australian-style brunch café spread across the 1st and 2nd floors at 64 Minrak-bondong-ro 11beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan.

The exterior looks like something you'd stumble on in a Seoul alley 🤭✨ I also spotted a lot of runners around Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch — this really does look like a great running route in Gwangalli! haha I kind of want to go for a run and then just grab a coffee still in my running gear 🤔 lol 💛

Whenever I see the ribbon, my hand goes straight for the camera 📸 A well-known brunch café in Gwangalli.

What we ordered at Famous Benny
There were so many menu options that when I couldn't decide, I just went with the best-seller 😉 The friend I went with told me to get the matcha since I love it, but I couldn't skip an americano at brunch, so I went with an iced one haha.

First and second floor seating and the self-bar
The 1st floor of Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch only had a counter and a few seats, plus notes on the coffee beans posted up. The 1st floor felt a little too exposed (?), so up to the 2nd floor we went!

Upstairs opened into a modern interior, and right away I spotted the self-bar with small plates, a water dispenser, cups, trays, and blankets. Everything was neatly arranged ✨ There was a baby chair set up nearby too.

A staff member brought our order right to the table. So pretty I kept photographing it — Australian-style brunch, Famous Benny. This is basically what you'd get in Australia, right? Since I can't actually go to Australia, I'll enjoy it here in Gwangalli instead 💞

Had to snap a photo with the trendy oversized keyboard keycap on the table too, lol. I really want one of those giant keycaps. A well-known brunch café in Gwangalli.

The Famous Benny (salmon), 18,000 won
The Famous Benny, ₩18,000 / salmon. You could choose salmon or bacon, and since I'm a salmon lover, salmon it was! It's the signature menu item, an eggs Benedict.
Underneath the vegetables you'll find the poached egg. The combination of croissant, poached egg, salmon, and vegetables was really excellent. A well-known brunch café in Gwangalli, Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch.

What I loved most was the freshness of the ingredients! Thanks to how fresh everything was, there wasn't a single bite of The Famous Benny that wasn't delicious. The seasoning wasn't heavy, so you could really taste the ingredients themselves — I loved that!

It's been ages since I've seen avocado this fresh! 🥑 It's hard to ripen avocado properly at home, and even when I order dishes with avocado out, it's rare to see one this clean-looking these days.

Iced americano with Dukes beans, 5,500 won
Iced americano, ₩5,500. Seeing the line about tasting Australia through Dukes beans got me excited for the coffee too. You're supposed to taste the real flavor with a hot americano haha, and even though the typhoon had cooled things down a bit, I still went with iced lol. It had a pleasantly bright acidity.

Reading through the notes they gave us made it feel extra special 🥹💓 Apparently all Dukes coffee uses certified organic, 100% Arabica beans, ethically traded through small-scale farming communities and single-origin farms, and roasted with care in Melbourne.

What does the 9,000-won acai bowl taste like?
Acai bowl / ₩9,000. Piled high with granola! The edible flowers are so pretty too, right? Back when acai bowls were trending everywhere, I always wanted to try one made properly, and now I get why they were so popular. Just the right amount of sweetness from the berries, with a healthy feel at the same time — I love that combination 🥳
Blueberries, mixed berries, peanut butter, banana, and more all came together in nice harmony. A well-known brunch café in Gwangalli.

Now I want to eat this again sometimes (okay, often),.? hahaha I'd recommend it whether you already love acai bowls, have never tried one, or just want a different kind of filling meal!

I scraped the bowl clean down to the last bite before leaving. A well-known brunch café in Gwangalli.
No buzzer: staff bring your brunch to the table
Famous Benny doesn't use a buzzer, so at first I waited around, but the staff told me to just stay seated and they'd bring it over. These days almost everywhere is self-service, so this touch was genuinely touching ~! They also said you can just leave your plates on the table when you're done and they'll clear it, so keep that in mind 😚 I also noticed a foreign couple heading out to the 2nd floor terrace — turns out there are stairs down to the outside from there!

Famous Benny fit perfectly with what I wanted — a relaxed weekday afternoon in Gwangalli. Now I'm curious about the rest of the brunch menu too 😊 A well-known brunch café in Gwangalli.
