Wanting to have brunch and relax at an easy pace, I visited Pino Cafe Cheonan (피노카페 천안) in Pungse-myeon, Cheonan. There were more meal options than I expected, and I was able to enjoy both a meal and a walk around the garden beside the café.
Where is Pino Cafe Cheonan, and what is parking like?
The address is 99-23 Hyuyangnim-gil, Pungse-myeon, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si. The original post listed its hours as 10:00–20:30, and the dedicated parking lot in front of the café made parking easy.
What is the interior like, and what is on the menu?
Once inside, I noticed the cute decorations and sparkling interior. It felt cozy overall, with little styled areas throughout that were enjoyable to look around at slowly.
The menu had a wide range of brunch dishes as well as drinks and bingsu (shaved ice dessert). I ordered charcoal-grilled whole pork belly steak, basil jalapeño pasta, passion fruit ade, and tea. At the time of my visit, there was also a notice that an egg tart would be provided for writing a Naver receipt review.
Is the garden good for a walk and photos?
When I opened the door leading to the garden, flowers and green scenery spread out in front of me. Simply walking slowly while looking at the colorful flowers made me feel at ease. The good weather made it especially satisfying to use both the indoor and outdoor spaces.
A little farther along, I found a red windmill and flower beds, which also made a nice setting for photos. Looking at the trees, blue sky, and flowers as I walked, I felt briefly removed from my everyday time in front of a computer.
How do the picnic tent areas work?
Past the garden, there were tent areas for having a picnic. There is normally a usage fee, but at the time of my visit I was told that a summer event allowed free use for two hours. It looked like a nice place for families with children to talk over brunch.
How were the charcoal-grilled pork belly steak and pasta?
Around the time I finished looking around the garden, the pager buzzed and I picked up my order.
When I lightly dipped the charcoal-grilled whole pork belly steak in the sauce, I could taste its subtle charcoal aroma and juices.
It was even better when I cut up the grilled bell pepper, onion, and chili pepper served alongside it and ate them with the meat.
The basil jalapeño pasta balanced basil's fragrant character with the jalapeño's spicy kick. Having the steak and pasta together made for a filling meal.
As I was finishing my meal, I had the egg tart I received after writing a Naver receipt review along with my drink. Its soft texture stayed with me.
Before leaving, I planned to make one more lap around the garden, but I met a cheese-colored cat at the entrance. I stayed for a moment, petting it up close.
What I liked most about this visit was how naturally a garden walk became part of having brunch. Before and after eating, I took my time looking at the flower beds and windmill and taking photos.
