Yeongdeungpo brunch café open on Chuseok: banana brûlée toast at Mela

If you're looking for a Yeongdeungpo Times Square café worth visiting, here's my honest review of Mela Times Square, a bright, cheerful brunch spot.

On the first day of Chuseok, I was torn about where to go. I wanted a Yeongdeungpo Times Square café where I could shop and chat comfortably. I stumbled on this place while wandering around, and the exterior alone looked so bright and cheerful. I walked in with high expectations, and honestly the location was perfect too.

Where Mela Times Square is and when it opens

Mela Times Square is close to Exit 6 of Yeongdeungpo Station, and being on the first floor of Times Square makes it easy to find — it's near GATE 4, opposite H&M. Even though it was my first time there, I didn't get lost.

The exterior was so clean and put me in a good mood right away.

What does the inside of Mela Times Square feel like?

Walking in, the interior was amazing! The lighting was soft and warm.

The tables were spaced pretty generously too. It's not noisy at all — a calm atmosphere.

It would be perfect for a date, and great for hanging out with friends too. Every corner is full of atmosphere ✨

Ordering and waiting at Mela Times Square

We sat down and picked from the order sheet at the table.

The staff were super friendly. There might be a bit of a wait, but tables turn over fast. Ordering is really simple too — no hassle at all 👍

What's on the menu at Mela Times Square

The menu was more varied than I expected — steak, pasta, risotto, and sweet toasts, all there.

Prices weren't intimidating either. I liked how solid the menu lineup felt.

Banana brûlée brioche toast

The visual alone caused a scene. It comes on top of moist brioche toast, with banana brûlée piled on.

It comes drizzled all over with sweet syrup 🌷 It just melted in my mouth.

The sweetness wiped out all my fatigue 💛 A flavor that genuinely made me go 'wow.'

Burrata arrabbiata pasta

The spicy tomato sauce was excellent.

A whole big ball of burrata cheese, plopped right in! The soft-meets-spicy combo was insane, and it cut through the richness perfectly.

The noodles were cooked chewy and just right. Loads of bacon in there too. The kind of dish where your fork just keeps going back 🍅

Grapefruit ade made with homemade grapefruit syrup

We also ordered a cold grapefruit ade. Since it's made with homemade grapefruit syrup, it's not bitter at all.

It's refreshing with plenty of fizzy bite, and it paired really well with the food. Sweet yet cool — totally satisfying! A perfect finish to the meal 🥤

Is Mela Times Square worth a brunch stop?

The food was excellent across the board. You could really feel the freshness of the ingredients.

Portions weren't skimpy either, just right. With the great atmosphere on top, I felt fantastic. It nails both value and quality — easily one of the top Yeongdeungpo Times Square cafés 💯

If you want a cozy date with your partner, a fun hangout with friends, or just a delicious brunch, definitely give this place a visit. You won't regret it ✨

I ate so well that I already want to come back. You should all stop by this weekend too.
