Daegu raw beef restaurant A course: Bonghwa Saenggogi
In short
Bonghwa Saenggogi Bokhyeon Branch is a raw beef restaurant in Buk-gu, Daegu. I had the 60,000-won A course with 140g each of fresh raw beef and yukhoe, plus warm, moist side dishes. Verdict: a very satisfying choice when you want both raw beef and yukhoe.

One of the must-try foods in Daegu is mungtigi, or thick-cut raw beef! I’m introducing Bonghwa Saenggogi Bokhyeon Branch (봉화생고기 복현점), a place I’ve visited before. Every time I come, the meat is so fresh and the side dishes are all prepared with such care and quality that my hands stay busy through the whole meal‼️

A handy stop in Bokhyeon-dong’s food alley
It’s in the Bokhyeon-dong food alley, so it’s easy to drop by when you’re looking for somewhere to eat nearby. It’s also a great spot for a first, second, or even third round—such good access ☝️

The dining room is pleasant, spacious, and has plenty of room between tables. There are TVs around too, so it’s nice to watch something like a baseball game while you eat! There are three of them, which is why my son likes this place best haha.

It’s good for a family meal, drinks with friends, or a company dinner or gathering ☝️☝️

The A course for fresh raw beef and yukhoe together
✔️ What I ordered A Course, small (2 people) ₩60,000 Fresh raw beef 140g + yukhoe 140g

Whenever I passed by, I always saw lots of older diners here. This is a real local favorite!!

A table full of accompaniments and side dishes
The table comes absolutely full~~~ The accompaniments are great, and the house special sauce is so tasty too!! But it’s not over yet haha.
There’s a clear beef-and-radish soup that warms you right through. They also serve soa-e with a creamy, pudding-like texture, plus cheonyeop (honeycomb tripe); everything is so fresh, delicious, and has absolutely no smell!

The pollack roe and cucumber combination is tasty, the garlic scapes are tasty, and there really isn’t a single basic side dish you’d want to leave behind!

I feel this every time I visit: the dishes have that warm, moist quality of food prepared just before being served. It’s the kind of place where you end up eating lots of side dishes before you even start on the meat haha.

Chewy fresh raw beef meets tender yukhoe
When someone loves fresh raw beef and someone else loves yukhoe, there’s no need to worry about the menu! I love this half-and-half combination where you can enjoy both at once haha.

Everything was so fresh, and the meat was clean with no off smell. It was chewy, yet the more I chewed, the more I could taste the meat itself—such a great texture 👍🏻👍🏻
It’s heavenly wrapped in gim (roasted seaweed), too~ It feels like unseasoned seaweed for gimbap (seaweed rice rolls), so you can really taste the yukhoe itself!
The yukhoe wasn’t overly heavily seasoned, so I could still taste the aroma of the meat, which I loved! I just kept reaching for it with my chopsticks 🥢
The fresh raw beef is chewy, while the yukhoe is a little more tender with that extra savory depth from the seasoning—an amazing combination. Seriously, it was soooo delicious‼️‼️‼️‼️

If you’re looking for fresh raw beef and yukhoe in Bokhyeon-dong
Every time I visit, I’m highly satisfied with the food overall. The fresh raw beef is chewy and fresh, and the yukhoe isn’t overly seasoned, so it’s easy to enjoy the meat’s natural flavor. Above all, the side dishes aren’t just numerous—they’re all things you keep reaching for, and they’re warm and moist as if freshly prepared, so my hands stay busy throughout the meal. The restaurant is fairly spacious, making it a great choice for a family dinner, a gathering with friends, or a company meal with a group. If you want properly good fresh raw beef and yukhoe in Bokhyeon-dong, or you’re looking for Daegu mungtigi, definitely pay a visit‼️‼️‼️
