Ansan Italian restaurant for seafood pasta: That Man's Italian

Wanting pasta and steak, I went to That Man's Italian Restaurant & Lounge (그남자의이태리식당&라운지) in Jungang-dong, Ansan. This time, I ordered seafood oil spaghetti and lamb chop steak.

Where is it, and what parking support is available?

The restaurant is on the sixth floor of Dongwon Building, 354 m from Jungang Station Exit 1. Parking in Jungang-dong felt difficult, but the restaurant said it supports parking at several lots.

At five locations—including the Dongwon Building public parking lot, in front of Geumsan Building, Jungang Heightsville, Lotte Department Store, and Megabox—the restaurant said you can receive one hour of free parking after registering your vehicle with them. It also said that using Daedong Joy World Parking Lot gives you ₩2,000 off your meal.

I went into the building and took the elevator up.

What are the seating and group rooms like?

The chair at the table I was shown was comfortable, and wine glasses were set on the table. The greenery and floor-to-ceiling windows made it feel a little like being on a rooftop. I also saw tables set in advance for a reserved group.

There was also a group room for dining separately. The stated capacity was up to 18 in the room, or up to 40 including the dining hall. There was an indoor restroom and high chairs, and disposable aprons were available.

What course and à la carte options are there?

The menu had signature main courses and à la carte dishes. At the time of my visit, there was also a notice saying that writing a Naver receipt review would come with egg tart ice cream.

Besides salads and soup, there were gratin and truffle fries.

There was a wide selection of pasta, including truffle cream paccheri, seafood spaghetti, pescatore, and scallop anchovy oil spaghetti.

There were also squid ink risotto and lamb chop steak. Since I could choose the doneness for the lamb, I asked for medium-rare.

Wagyu steak was also on the menu. Drinks included wine, highballs, beer, and soft drinks.

Desserts included sherbet and affogato.

What did I order, and how much was it?

The seafood oil spaghetti was ₩21,900 and the lamb chop steak was ₩43,900. I added a Sprite.

The complimentary water came as tea, and they brought two glasses with ice. The pre-meal bread was crisp yet soft, which I liked from the start of the meal.

I put the pasta and lamb chop steak together and started my meal.

What did the seafood oil spaghetti taste like?

The noodles were cooked to a texture that suited my taste. The shrimp, scallops, and clams tasted fresh, and the whole garlic was good too. There was enough oil sauce to eat easily with the pasta.

What were the aroma and texture of the medium-rare lamb chops?

When I ordered medium-rare, I worried that the lamb aroma might be strong. But when I tried it, there was no gamey smell, and I liked that it was neither tough nor dry. The tender texture, with noticeable juices, stayed with me.

The zucchini, mushrooms, eggplant, and tomatoes served beneath the meat were good too. I ate the lamb chops with the whole-grain sauce served alongside them.

What are the hours and reservation options?

According to the information provided when the original post was written, hours were 12:00–22:00. The break was 15:00–17:00, last order was at 21:00, and the restaurant was regularly closed every Monday. Naver reservations were also listed as available.
