Seolleung Station gukbap restaurant: lean meat gukbap at Dawonok
In short
Dawonok Daechi Main Branch is a sundae gukbap (blood sausage and pork soup) restaurant on Yeoksam-ro near Seolleung Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two diners visited on a weekday at 7pm and ordered lean meat gukbap for 12,000 won plus spicy mixed gukbap with a steamed pork set added, and because each person ordered a bowl, the self-serve bar offered unlimited sundae, liver and lung. The deep broth and freshly steamed sundae make Dawonok a gukbap spot worth returning to.

Today I want to introduce Dawonok Daechi Main Branch, a gukbap (rice and soup) restaurant near Seolleung Station! You can eat unlimited sundae (blood sausage), liver, and lung from the self-serve bar, and above all the deep broth is so good that I really want to go back. Let me show you around!

Where is Dawonok Daechi Main Branch, and what is the restaurant like?
Dawonok looks like the textbook definition of a Korean restaurant from the outside! If you order one bowl of gukbap per person, sundae, liver and lung are unlimited — a huge draw for anyone who likes drinking with their meal.

I visited around 7pm on a weekday and more than half the restaurant was already full! There were so many customers that I couldn't get a shot of the right side, but there were various 4-person and 2-person tables set up. A really great space for solo dining too ✨

What two people ordered at Dawonok and what it cost
You order through the tablet sitting on each table! No need to call over staff, which was great. Here's what the two of us ordered on a weekday evening.
- Lean meat gukbap ₩12,000
- Spicy mixed gukbap ₩18,000 (with steamed pork set added)
- Chilsung Cider ₩2,000
- Total: ₩32,000 ordered! 😇

Unlimited sundae, liver and lung: how to season your gukbap
Unlimited sundae/liver/lung when you order one bowl per person!
- For every gukbap, taste it first, then add salt, pepper, dadaegi, salted shrimp, or perilla powder to your liking
- For Yangpyeong haejangguk and naejangtang, dip in chili oil or stir it into the soup as you prefer
Best of all, they sell so many different kinds of gukbap that you can just pick whatever suits your taste and season it yourself as you go! So good...

There are even hair ties ready at every table... I was genuinely shocked by the thoughtfulness the moment I saw them...

At the self-bar, sundae, liver, and lung wait endlessly in a warm steamer. I tried some right as they got freshly re-steamed toward the end of our meal, and freshly steamed really is the best haha. If you like to have a drink with your meal, I don't think you could ever leave Dawonok Daechi Main Branch lol. You'd just keep ordering more soju and gukbap over and over ㅠㅠ

Spicy mixed gukbap, 13,000 won: the broth and what is in the bowl
Spicy mixed gukbap, ₩13,000. Mixed means the bowl has both lean meat and sundae in it! You can order the basic version and add dadaegi yourself, but today I wanted an extra spicy broth, so I ordered the spicy version.

Even with just a quick stir of the spoon, look how much is packed in there! This is my favorite part... Chives come included as standard, and above all it's loaded with lean meat and two kinds of sundae. Once I seasoned it with salt, pepper and salted shrimp, the broth got even deeper, and the sharp heat of the cheongyang chili peppers made it so delicious (I'm not a fan of capsaicin-style heat though).

The steamed pork set added to the gukbap
This is the steamed pork set you can add as a combo alongside your gukbap! Tender steamed pork comes with it. Perfect to order if you're dining alone but want a generous side, or if you want a simple side to share with a friend!

How does Dawonok's lean meat gukbap at 12,000 won taste?
Lean meat gukbap, ₩12,000. This is a gukbap with a deep, milky-white broth and loaded with lean meat! The moment I saw the broth I thought, wow, this looks really rich! An appetizing sight the instant you see it.

Maybe it's because it's the lean meat version, but compared to the mixed gukbap, the meat is clearly loaded in on purpose haha. Soft and tender and delicious!

Saying this might make you think the mixed bowl skimps on meat, but not at all! The mixed gukbap of course also has plenty of lean meat, fat, and sundae packed in.

Two kinds of sundae at Dawonok: sticky rice and tofu
And the sundae was so big haha that I had to cut it. Both regular chapssundae (sticky rice blood sausage) and tofu sundae are available, so you can pick whichever suits your taste, which is awesome 😏

If you want proper gukbap in Gangnam, come visit Dawonok Daechi Main Branch 🤍
