Anyang bakery open until midnight: fig baguette at Milbat Bakery
In short
Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon is a neighborhood bakery in Anyang, Gyeonggi, right in front of Exit 1 of Pyeongchon Station and across from Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, open daily from 8am to midnight. After sampling the free tasting bread, the writer picked a fig baguette, devil bread and a black sesame twist, and all three were satisfying. The fig baguette was the standout — crisp outside, soft inside, and good enough to win over people who don't even like figs.

Went to Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon, a place famous for its bread 🍞✨ They have such a wide variety here, but the best part is that they offer tasting bread, so you can taste before you buy!! Between all the visuals that make a bread lover's eyes go wide, here's my honest review of what I finally picked.

What the bakery looks like from outside

What's really great about this location is that Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital is right in front, so it's super easy to find. It's only about a 5-minute walk from Pyeongchon Station, which makes it really accessible. It's the kind of place you can pop into on your way from the hospital or passing by the station, like a neighborhood mill. And since they're open late, it's perfect for stopping by when you're craving bread after getting off work late. Milbat Bakery also says they use natural leaven and low-temperature fermentation so the bread is easy on the stomach, and they follow a same-day-baked, same-day-sold principle.
Inside Milbat Bakery: what breads are on the shelves

The interior is small and cute, but the variety of bread is genuinely huge.

The shelves were packed full of bread, and just looking at it made a bread lover like me happy... From basic red bean bread, soboro, mocha bread to sandwiches, cream bread, and roll cake in the fridge case, the variety is genuinely huge. And it's not just about quantity — everything looked so delicious ㅠㅠ I could see why this place comes up right away when you search for bakery recommendations in Pyeongchon. I went a bit after 4pm, and since it's a popular spot, some breads were already sold out. Customers kept coming in too, so I... started to feel rushed, worried the bread would disappear ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

After much deliberation, I picked based on what people recommended! And the fig baguette is a must, you absolutely have to get it :) From here on are the breads I picked.

How the three breads from Milbat Bakery tasted
1. Fig baguette (🌟 the one to get)
(As you can see, there's fig tucked in the middle.) I don't usually like figs that much, but I was genuinely amazed eating this. Normally when a baguette is chewy it's a pain for your jaw and not great, but this baguette had a satisfyingly crisp crust and a soft interior — the texture was so good. The nutty, plain bread paired so perfectly with the sweet fig that I devoured it in no time. Even people who don't like figs would really love this. My parents liked it too and said it was delicious.
2. Devil bread
The dark visual grabbed my attention, and I picked it up like I was hypnotized. The outside is topped with nutty grain powder and sweet toppings, and inside there's a chewy rice-cake-like filling — since I usually love rice cakes, this was totally my type! I told myself I'd just have one bite, and I ended up eating the whole thing. My diet has officially failed...
3. Black sesame twist
One bite in, it's really nutty, with just the right sweetness from the red bean filling — even people who usually love black sesame would really enjoy this.
Is Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon worth a stop?
Being able to taste before buying made my satisfaction with Milbat Bakery Pyeongchon double! Every single bread I picked was delicious, so I can confidently recommend this as a great bakery. If you're near the hospital or passing by Pyeongchon Station, definitely stop by!! Especially the fig baguette — you absolutely have to add it to your basket 🥖💛 Highly recommend.
